The whole thing is very nice. I like the path and the garden. I think the house was greatly improved with the addition. Before & After: Erin's DIY Side Garden The Gardenist |

We received the commercial version of this for Christmas last year. It is nice for more than one child to play with at a time. I can see how this would be a very simple diy project. The only downside is that the house is huge! Our home is large enough to accommodate it, but it does kind of take over the room. Build A Dream Dollhouse For The Holidays Ana White Homemaker |

My mother in law about blows a gasket when she comes to our house because of our snack cabinet. She can not believe we let them make their own choices about when to eat and how much. Now, that being said, the cabinet only has things I am okay with them eating at all times...apples, walnuts, dried fruit, carrots, hummus, rice cakes, oranges, etc..There is no packaged or processed food available to them in the cabinet. In our home, granola bars, Lara bars, etc. are treats and have to be asked for. To my thinking, even if they eat too much between meals, it is all wholesome, quality food, but this has never been an issue. I think the key is to line out your expectations with your child and to only stock the cabinet with items that you are okay with being eaten at any time. My daughters do attend a Montessori grade school and previously a preschool, so this concept is very familiar to them, but I firmly believe that most children can learn to not abuse this set up if it is gradually introduced. Maybe water cups and a pitcher of water first. Then, add in a bowl of fruit with only the number of pieces you would allow them to have in a day. You can continue on from there. I agree about the Shiner Redbird being delicious. I have been hoarding it since the stores around here cannot keep it on stock. It is very refreshing with a nice grapefruit and ginger flavor. I am not a fruit beer or Shiner fan, but this is the most refreshing beer I have this summer. Good, Bad, or...Meh: What Do You Think of Fruit Beers? Beer Sessions |

I liked this post because it was informative and let me know about a food (or should it be "food") I didn't even know existed. I don't want to eat this, but it does make for an interesting conversation. Deep-Fried Kool-Aid Balls: Not As Crazy As They Sound? ABC News |

I have made something just like this, and with no food coloring or corn syrup. I just used a variety of blended fruits and orange juice. These are a little brighter than mine, but I just wanted to let people know that they can definitely be done with only fruit. These sure are pretty! Rainbow Popsicles The Family Kitchen |

I think the color scheme is great. The blue, green, grey, and white look really nice together. I also love the curtains. They look luxurious! Overall, the room still needs some changes made to make it seem cohesive, but I am sure with more time you will get there. Before & After: A Dining Room Goes from Bland to Grand bova goods |

@ burnttoast, you might be appalled to know that I even kiss my husband and children...with my mouth. I also have a baby that I breastfeed, so we all tend to share our germs. Last time I checked, I didn't live in a house full of strangers, but people I eat with, bathe, and sleep with. The transfer of germs between us is inevitable, and a hand towel that we share that has only had clean hands wiped on it is the least of my worries when it comes to my health. I have an ancient one (from the 60s) I got off Craigslist for $30. I bought it as a place holder until I had the money to get a new one, but after using it for 2 years with no trouble, I have no plans to replace it.
