For questions regarding the bonsai plants in the cement block I would have to query the artist---I did not create the piece, I am only showing it. But I would be glad to ask him questions on your behalf, Latte!

"Cyb" feel free to contact me at my website regarding the golden cat and the green piece. The green piece is a custom piece. The artist is from Taiwan but currently resides in Venice, CA. The golden cat was done by a local artist whose work looks stunning in homes. He also made the sculptures you see in the courtyard. The method behind the madness of having an at-home gallery is to show homeowners/apartment dwellers how livable artwork is. Often we see work in a gallery and think it's too large for average spaces. But nothing adds life and meaning to decor/interior design than art.

Best Regards -

Hello All,

Thanks for your comments about my house---"the M House".

Just to answer one question that seems to be disturbing to a few of you, or you are just curious about - those plants in concrete blocks!!! It's an installation by a local artist. They are designed for the interior but with a Labrador and a 17 month old I didn't think it would be a good idea! 'Tis true they're very odd and peculiar pieces...much like the artist! But they are also intriguing and his gist is that they are "green" plants; need very little water or tending to. Also the idea is no matter how small the space you live in you can have a mini garden. And it's art folks! Because we know we can get the same thing from the Home Depot garden department but in a prettier presentation!

And FYI most of the artwork is for sale. But thanks, again for you really nice comments as this is a scary format! I wasn't planning on reviewing any comments but thought, what the heck! If you have particular questions about where we got materials, let me know. Oh---the red carpet! We did it as a tongue-in-cheek thing! It was to relieve the seriousness of all that metal and concrete. We plan to replace it with bamboo treads soon!

Cheers!
