I don't know, I had the Karim bottle and I hated it. I found it difficult to use and it leaked all over my counter. I also didn't think it was refillable. The appeal for me was the cucumber scented soap.

I'm also on the Mrs. Meyers bandwagon now.

“role-up-your-sleeves”

I hate to nitpick, but unless you're being cute, it is "roll-up-your-sleeves."

3. I'd like to use the blik graphics to set my bed apart with a "headboard" in my studio apartment. I'm not allowed to paint and discouraged from bolting things to the wall (my original plan). This would be a huge step towards helping me finish off my Spring Cure :)

Thanks

I fell off the cure wagon right before bathroom week. I can't explain it other than my crazy control issues got way out of control (partly due to cure and partly due to some upcoming personal stuff) and I spent about 3 weeks pretty much coming undone. I had to take a giant break from a lot of things, including AT.

I'm better now. I'm even going to vacuum tonight. I still haven't cleaned my bathroom though. And you know what, that's totally ok.

Missed you guys.

Laura,

Your apartment is what my apartment wants to be when it grows up. Very nice!

I did the x-country, ditch everything you own move last year too. It does make for a good clean start over break, but I don't think I'd like to do it again any time soon!

Congrats on an excellent first entry!

Hm... thanks for the recommendation Kate but I don't think I'm going to make it to Utah from LA. I'll just console myself that that accounts for the price difference and vow to LOVE THE HELL out of my poster when it comes back.

That's what I thought, faith... I just wanted to make sure before I tried it and ended up with what could potentially be a greasy fatty mess :)

This may be a stupid question, but it seems like you don't drain off the bacon grease?

elevenhounds, I want to say I've read something that says that green (a soft pale green I assume) is actually the best color for gauging your actual appearance. It somehow acts as a neutral.

I can't recall where that information came from. I could also be slamming two bits of information together.

Kate, where did you go? I can still get my poster back and take it somewhere else.

For your dartboard can you mount it on some plywood and then attach the plywood to the wall... You'll still have drill holes in the wall but it will look better than tiny dart holes. You can always putty over the holes when you move.

Balls. My says its 1 1/2" Walnut Ebony. Maybe the cost comes from the float framing, which creates a slight shadow box effect?

Perhaps a little late now, but I just dropped off a poster (25"x38") to be professionally framed at a place in Pasadena. They are "float" framing it, no mat. The total came out to $240. Am I getting totally ripped or is that fair?

Thanks jodi, I was just feeling a little stuck yesterday. Like I had gotten all this stuff done... now what? So I threw myself a very small pitty party then went out to get stuff to cover my ugly pillows. I'm all better now!

I think I do better when I have a specific plan for the weekend like "paint desk." I didn't have that this weekend beyond "buy rug" and so I felt a little lost. Now I know *cue GI Joe music*

The Spring Cure: Week Four - Weekend

I put up new photos today, mostly just of the rug. The apathy really hit me hard this week, I think. I know I've done a lot but there's still so much I want to do and it is making me tired today. I'll try and get my list of things I HAVE done together later tonight.

I think part of it is because I actually accomplished two big things (taxes and rug) that I had been dreading and putting off and waffling about. Now I know I have to go on to make other decisions and do other things that I had been putting off until the big things were done.

I think I will magic eraser my sink. Maybe that will get me going.

I bought a rug, some curtians AND did my taxes. Both the rug and taxes came out much better than expected. By just doing those things, I feel like I rocked week 4 even if I never did scrub the inside of my fridge in week 2.

Awh, I'm currently getting my apartment together with the 8 week cure. I wish the contest was after that... I might have enough confidence to put something together then!

I guess I just have a head start on next year ;)

HA! Lisa. At least you're MAKING rug decisions!

I think the winner is going to be the West Elm Morocco Windows rug in light blue. My color scheme seems to be leaning baby blue and chocolate brown with shocks of orange. I'm going to suppliment the main rug with the smaller Peacock Feathers one from UO for the end of my bed to hide the stains from where the cats decided to knock over full cups of coffee on two different occasions. Its on super sale now so no harm, no foul if I hate it. It can become my porch rug.

The lovely and fabulous boyfriend-Scott came over last night and, while I attempted to get all my terrible paperwork in order for possibly the most complicated tax prep EVAR, proceeded to scrape all the paint off the screws on the cabinet hinges (I said he didn't have to, but he was on a roll) so I will be able to take them off to replace them this weekend and at some point, be able to actually CLOSE my cabinets. From looking at all the paint stalagtites, we came to the conclusion they did not so much paint my apartment as slather it.

I've maganged to clean the counter to the pass-through and clean the TV/Media cart and componants and add a power strip to that corner.

Lamps and rugs this weekend! It will be great! Possibly even curtians and pillows!?!?! Who knows!

Hi Abby, Yes I have. I'm just struggling with my own inner rug demons. I'm going to stop actively looking for a rug and then maybe the right one will fall in my lap.

Or I will get the moroccan windows one in light blue from West Elm. Because that's where I am with the rugs today.

Stacia! I was wondering where you were! Glad you're back! Can't wait to see the Elvis plates when they get to their new homes. :)

I had friends who put a robins egg blue clawfoot tub in their wood panneled bedroom right in front of the fire place in their Brooklyn brownstone. I've been jealous about it since the first time I saw it. Their explanation was that they loved to take baths, didn't have enough room in the bathroom for a tub, and thought taking a bath by the fire and then snuggling down into bed was the most romantic thing ever. I can't argue with that!
