Gorgeous! Such a worthwhile effort! I love the old school chairs! I have an elementary sized all wood vintage chair that we find to be so useful. Makes a great step stool!

I love that you gave so much space to your dressing room. Unconventional room usage -- I'm a fan!

"Know Thyself" is an important post.

I am deciding what type of house/townhouse to purchase. I'm trying to be realistic about "how I really live" versus "how I think I should live" versus "how I lived in the past".

How much space do we REALLY need: a mom with 2 kids and 3 cats? How much of a yard? How little can we do with? Is one bath enough? How we live NOW versus how we will live when they are teenagers? What will I need when they leave the nest?

Currently, we live in a 2400sqft house that is HUGE for us. We only use the upstairs which is 1700sqft and that is too big! We only use 1 bathroom, happily. Nobody wants to use the other bathroom, except for guests.

Inside our house, our lives are snuggle, meals, laundry, bathe, art, computer, peace-out.

I look at catalogues like Pottery Barn, and I think: that is a fantasy for a lifestyle that I dreamed of, eventually had, and didn't care for -- but still, it is compelling. Massive amounts of holiday decor, living rooms that would suit a rustic lodge lobby, huge dining rooms. It's so much work! You need a staff to pull it off. Who wants that? Not me. Same with the KitchenAid mixer. We are all compelled to get one, and I never used mine. Same with the bread machine.

Seems like so much of "correct living" is social convention that doesn't work for so many of us. That's why I come to the ApartmentTherapy website so often -- to see different ways to organize a home and live in a home.

I am a fan! This is LOVELY. I love my closet too - but haven't made it a work of art like yours. Very Sweetly done.

Pretty and fancy and expensive.

I would have liked to see just the wall color changed, to white, and ceiling fixtures changed. In my opinion, no reason to rip out perfectly good tile.

I also like your color palette. Cohesive and calm. I'd like to know the wall paint colors that you have chosen.

I really appreciate the hallway. It looks like a dark hallway, and the wallpaper and white doors and beadboard and lightfixture all perk it up and make it a cool place to be.

More pictures for sure.
