I am totally embarrassed to admit this, but I WIN!! I set my stove on fire this week. I am now using a hot plate and a toaster oven.

Quick (dumb) question - Do you steam the cauliflower first or is it raw?

This post was funny to me but your comment has me cracking up. My family was somewhere in between but unless you LOCKED said bathroom door, somebody was going to come in! My young adult children still do if they need to use the commode while I'm in the shower.

I admit I'm a bag lady. The lettuce in my fridge was wilted. The zucchini in my crisper was a slimy mess. I leave produce in the bags that I bought because it looks good, such a great price, I want to try a new recipe, etc.

Thanks for the tip, RubyMae. I hope it help me because I shop with a list but still pick up extra items and think I'll use it before it goes bad ... but never do.

I'm going to try. I need to do this cure, but I tend to 1) procrastinate and 2) have zero energy!

Friday we had sautéed chicken cutlets, broccoli and cauliflower with Asiago cheese. Yesterday was baked salmon, corn on the cobb and glazed carrots. Today we will have some kind of soup or stir fry . I am trying to decide whether to do the kitchen cure and want to use up what I have in the fridge and freezer.

I went to the Dekalb Farmer's Market this week, so I will be roasting the spaghetti, butternut and acorn squash I picked up along with a pork roast and steamed broccoli tonight. Hopefully, there will be leftovers for tomorrow.

Our washer and dryer are in the kitchen of our house built in the early 60's. It is a vast improvement over our other house where the laundry room was outside under the carport.

I cracked up when I read this post as I live in Decatur, GA and our power was out Sunday morning before the storm hit. When the power came back on, I made sure that my cellphone was fully charged. I usually charge it every other day.

Thanks lona. There are quite a few different ways to do eggs - omelets, frittatas, quiche, etc. What can I do with the yolk once I separate the eggs? Hair conditioner, maybe?

I have some flax seed meal from the DeKalb Farmers Market and I used it in salmon burgers. They were delish and anything to add fiber into my family without an off taste goes well by me.

Thanks AustinRP. I actually forgot cottage cheese was low carb. Depending on the carb & fiber content, I may be able to pull off the smoothies with a small amount of fruit. Mom prefers Almond Breeze to the various soy milks I was buying.

Could anyone help with low carb breakfast ideas? I am primary caregiver to my elderly disabled mother who has diabetes and we just found out her cholesterol is a little elevated, so we have to cut down on the eggs for breakfast. Thanks.

Tonight I think I'll make grilled vegetable sandwiches with olive-mustard sauce, frozen fruit tart and watermelon punch. I wanted to make a jerk black bean burger, but I've misplaced my recipe and someone ate all my mushroom, onion & mozzarella burgers.

Great price. I'd use it when my niece & nephew visit. My two year old nephew always falls off my bed when he's sleeping.
