My take on it is that people just want to be noticed. Blogs give people the chance to feel more visible to a broader audience. Unfortunately too often people are just looking for praise and not taking the opportunity for it to be a learning experience.

Lately, I've noticed that blogs are deleting more and more negative responses or criticisms. Sure, comments can be mean-spirited and/or sarcastic but if they have an actual critique I see no reason to delete any comment. If comments like "Love it!" don't get deleted why should comments like "Hate it!" get deleted? Equally are useless and add little to the dialogue. I feel like a standard for deleting comments should apply across the board for negative and positive comments.

I think we can learn a lot from criticisms versus praise. All the homes featured here I think have already received praise by being selected. I think constructive criticisms about what isn't working in the space can become an enlightening and interesting discussion for the commenters and the homeowner if they care to join in.

I just thought about this but maybe a way to approach a noisy neighbor is to ask them if YOU are being noisy and if they can hear YOU. Maybe this is an easy way to bring up the conversation of noise in general, mind you I've never tried this. Who knows, maybe they will ask you the same back. If it seems random to do that I guess you could set-up a scenario by playing your music a bit loud and then going over to ask them so it doesn't seem out of the blue or passive aggressive.

This is the only way I can think of doing this without coming off as obnoxious. In my mind, no matter how noisy the person is being if you go over and tell them to be quiet they are going to think you are an annoying stick in the mud.

I posted about an etsy seller, Kitsch Cafe, that sells kitsch items and he has a lot of cute kitsch dog figurines that I think would be really cute on a bookshelf or mantle.

@CiudadDuerpo I know! I was disappointed to see no listings for Ohio. So I did my own research and found this

http://www.20thcenturycincinnati.com/pages/dealers.html

It has dealers all throughout Ohio and a few surrounding Midwest locations as well. I'm from Southern Ohio so I was more interested in the places located there so I did a post at my blog that listed all the Southern Ohio places. Hopefully that link will help you find some locations near you :)

I don't have any experience picking drapes yet so I don't have any suggestions but I did want to ask you (or anyone else who knows) where did you get that wonderful sectional? It looks so comfy. I'm couch hunting now so any help would be greatly appreciated :)

I just thought maybe sheers would be nice to soften the room.

I just had this debate three days ago, so I was compelled to share my experience.

I had a big tub of vanilla yogurt in the back of the fridge that had never been opened. The expiration date was December 16, 2010. I've done this before when I had eaten half the yogurt and let me tell you it wouldn't be a pretty sight. So, I hesitantly opened the yogurt for the first time and to my surprise the yogurt was all white and mold free. I took a sniff and it smelled fine as well. I then took a taste and it was delicious!

I used it quickly though because I was worried it would start decomposing after being exposed to the air (my own silly made up "scientific" theory). I used it in smoothies and it was great!

So in short, I'm pretty sold on the sniff test, at least when it comes to dairy.
