I hate chilled avocado soup, with a passion. UGH.
Love gazpacho though, but only if its done right, under seasoned its awful stuff!

I love adding balsamic, if use use white balsamic it doesn't change the colour of the soup. Trader Joe's has a white Balsamic.

I just came back from a week on Saturna Island on BC's west coast and the food we ate is here: http://moreterriers.blogspot.com/2011/07/food-we-ate.html

We found that having the following was great:
• big pack of fresh corn tortillas
• tofu
• marinated steak
• big batch of salsa
• potatoes, green onions, tomatoes, cucumber
• nectarines, apples and oranges
• eggs, cheese and yogurt
• bag of good pancake mix and granola

For spices I brought:
• dried oregano, cumin, sumac, sesame seeds
For sauces:
• soy sauce, apple cider vinegar, rice wine vinegar, olive oil and butter
