We just went through our 42 stuffed toys a few days ago... This was the first time I did it with the kids. I gave them a limit - they could keep six of them each. Easy for my eldest who is a minimalist : he chose his favorite one, and said we could give all the others away. Difficult for my second son who is a bit of a hoarder. So he picked his 6 favorite ones but couldn't bring himself to donate the other ones. It took us three runs to thin down the rest. So we're left with...drumrolls.... 17 stuffed animals between 3 kids. Hurray!

Stepmother brought a bunch of tulips, boyfriend vacuumed and mopped, and we've been using green cleaning products for years. So I was able to concentrate on my kitchen decluttering and cleaning project this week-end. Almost there...

I like the old-fashioned version of the home cure, you know, the "eight step" one... I have loved the "spring cleaned" effect on our apartment every single time I've taken the cure . So what I'im doing is going through it all but with everyone in the new schedule, focussing on the rooms most in need of the cure, and if my motivation is still up, will do the other rooms in february.
Ok, here goes :
Kitchen : declutter and deep clean from top to bottom
Entrance, hallway and bathroom: declutter and clean
Office and living room: major declutter and clean
Bedrooms : declutter and clean
Rooms left over for february : cellar, balcony

Thanks for the great tips. I would love to know how to harvest/prune parsley. Do you also pinch it ? What about mint, sage and rosmary? --- We've got all these growing on our balcony in Switzerland ! :)

Would it be shocking to publish a post on how to make an igloo in your garden ? Or about hanging a hammock in traditional south american style? I don't see a problem in introducing our children to truly ingenuous ways of living from around the world. It's all what you talk about whilst making it. You can get them really interested into history and tell them the real story too!

I live in a small town in Switzerland. Twice a week I walk to the market on the main square of the town, with our 3 children. There we can buy organic vegetables, bread, fresh pasta and many other delicious foods. It is also a very sociable way to shop, we meet many of our friends and aquaintences there. We're conscious that this is a luxury. Luckily markets like this still exist all over Europe.
