There seems to be some confusion on the matter of masculine and feminine. Just so ya'll know, masculine and feminine are not gender specific terms. Where you fall on the spectrum has little to do with your gender. I'm female but I waver back and forth between feminine and masculine, my fiance is male but he's somewhat in the middle as well. I love hard edged bold design and I also love pink and delicate design. I love roses and I also love leather. I can't really speak to whether or not these "feminine" designs are a trend or not but I've always been interested in balancing my decor between masculine and feminine, so if florals are in vogue now then they stole my damn idea! (kidding).

To be fair, if I didn't have someone else that lived with me my decor would probably lean closer to feminine.

To me, this is what a nightstand should look like! Every few weeks if stuff piles up I'll clean mine off but I always need my water, lamp, lotion, chap stick, phone, and all my prescriptions sitting next to me. I have a drawer but it annoys me too much to open it every time I need chap stick or drugs (which is always).

My point is, your nightstand looks very orderly. :)

I do have rules, but mostly they're in the interest of keeping my dishes clean and nice. Non stick pans, good knives, wooden things, delicate glass, and certain plastic things that apparently melt shouldn't go in the dishwasher (a lot of people ignore these rules but it tends to totally ruin your dishes, and IDK about you guys but I kinda love my dishes). Everything else can be crammed in however you want as long as it has some sort of common sense behind it. I'm still trying to explain to my fiance that bowls need to be mostly face down or they won't get clean.

As for the toxicity of the wall, it's not any different than having a large lego collection. I don't think very many children's toys will smell very good while burning, regardless of whether or not they're made into a wall.

This is exactly my style! So beautiful. I'm not getting 80s from it at all though, it looks classic!

Whether or not you like voicemail, can we ALL agree that a voicemail containing no information other than "call me back" is the most annoying thing on the planet? If you have something specific you want to talk about, or a question, let me know so I can call you back and answer it instead of me wondering if you want to tell me someone died or if you just want to check what my favourite colour is. I've tried telling my dad this soooo many times but he's so trained from his many years managing people over a land line phone that he is too set in his ways.

I also second the person who said to sign up for google voice! It makes it SOOO much easier to check voicemail. It automatically pops up on your phone when you have a message and transcribes it (not with the greatest accuracy, but close enough to get the gist) and if you want to listen to it you just hit play and it'll play, no more password BS! It makes voicemail more like checking your email or a text rather than a chore.

Ahhh, to have a craft room; Someday! This room has some great ideas. I'm a fan of uber organized spaces like this. I especially love all the jars!

Our family loved going to those Italian restaurants with the paper tablecloths, we're a big family, and everyone (except my dad, who claimed to have no artistic skills) would bust out the crayons and draw the hell outta that tablecloth. I usually had to have the crayons wrestled away from me so I would eat. Wish we would have had paper tablecloths at home!

You made my day! I had to settle on the slip cover that was closest to what I wanted through IKEA but I've never been very happy with it, I had no idea there were so many options through other sites! :D

I hate all these huge phones. Sure, it's great that they're an option for people who want them, but I dislike the trend of bigger and bigger phones. I currently have the HTC Incredible and it's even a little big for me, I don't need a HUGE screen, just big enough to surf the web! I wish there were more small, smartphone options!

Plus my hands are tiny!

Good idea but I'm with many others who are messy cooks! When you toss something into hot oil or are scrubbing something really ferociously those particles really reach far! and it's hard to really get a good look at the painting in this particular location. Paintings are great in the kitchen but I'm sad about how vulnerable this one is!

For those of you who use it on your face or for acne: Do you just rub it on and leave it or do you wash it off afterwards? Do you use it with your current skin regimen or does it REPLACE your regimen. (basically, can I just get rid of my face lotion and pore scrub if coconut oil works for me?)

I've recently switched to coconut oil as my main cooking oil and have been wanting to venture into other uses for a while now! It's wonderful if coconut is your favourite scent like it is for me! :)

I can't fall asleep if there's ANY light on (although I've gotten used to my red alarm clock). My fiance's computer is in our bedroom so I went crazy one night and ran around with a roll of black electrical tape and taped over anything and everything that had a stupid little blinking light on it (printer, humidifier, monitor, router, speakers, you'd be surprised how many things have lights on them. In the future I'm going to put everything on timers but the tape is doing its job for now. :P

I, too use the velvet hangers. They're nice and slim and come in a variety of shapes (even kid sized ones!). Although I first started buying name brand ones from Target when they first came out and I'm too OCD to buy the slightly different ones from TJMAXX cause it would ruin the harmony of my hangers. Too bad I didn't start with the cheaper ones! :|

When I was the President of my High school's art club we made curtains just like this to hang in the art rooms (they were very tall, narrow windows). Everyone grabbed a pen and started doodling! It was fun and I bet they're still hanging there! Although credit for the idea goes to my talented Ceramics teacher! :)

Also, that kid has some talent, am I right?

Mine are totally in a plastic sterilite storage drawer that can barely close anymore but I really like the wine rack idea! The last image is cute too, but mine would get dusty too quickly and I think I have too much yarn for that..

Doesn't make me feel nauseous but patterns like this have always given me headaches even after about a minute of looking at them. The actual pattern is a lot worse to me than the rug though.

Interesting. I'm another one of those people who organizes stuff for my friends and families without them asking me to. If I open a spice cabinet or a refrigerator my OCD kicks in..

I've thought about doing a "personal assistant" gig. I'm kind of a "jack of all trades" of domestic skills. and I actually ENJOY doing most of these things. Anyone in Minneapolis need my skills? ;)

@mrsgoddard Yes, many Americans do have large kitchens, but there are still plenty of us living in very small apartments and houses and we have to choose our appliances carefully. The only things I can fit on my counter are a microwave, a one cup blender, and a sugar bowl. :\
