My 4-year-younger sister and then boyfriend lived with me when I first bought my house. I loved it. She hated it. I was too messy and hadn't quite gotten the domestic thing down. I missed them terribly after they got married and moved out.

Now my 18-year-younger sister lives with me. We both enjoy it for the most part but she's so young and so much younger than I am that I end up doing more parenting than either of us want. Looking forward to pushing her out of the nest only because she needs growth. I'd gladly take her back in 5 years. She's a great roommate.

I never felt grown up until my baby sister moved into my house and I realized how still at 20, she is very much not an adult.

Cleaning up after yourself for the seer reason that it needs to get done today. Rinsing the sink after you brush just 'cus it is easier to clean later. Not just changing the TP roll but also bringing in a spare roll from the linen closet. Not staying up until all hours when you have to get up in the morning for work. Not spending money you don't have.

For me it's not the job, the mortgage or the spare room but the responsibility and consideration for your space and for others.

I have one 16oz stoneware mug at the office and it is the only completely perfect thing I own. I'm not a coffee drinker but I'm always sipping something. Hot, cold it doesn't matter. I have a dozen random mugs at home but I'm always longing for my office mug. I can't seem to find another that feels right.

I find a lot of design styles are not to my taste. Some are fugly! Some I find just boring. But there isn't a design element or style that I'm allergic to. Some things in a home I do find disconcerting.

I to straighten other people's crooked art. Hell, I straighten crooked art at the doctor's office. It must be doing something inside my head as I can't not do it.

Messes in other people's houses don't bother me as long as I have somewhere to sit. Messy is different than dirty. I can eat at a messy house. I can't even take a glass of water at a dirty house. Again not exactly a design thing but an uncomfortable get under your skin thing.

Even though I compose outfits and room arrangements that blow my friends and coworkers out of the water, I apparently don't actually see color particularly well. 68!

So being a brat and throwing a little tantrum, I tweaked the monitor brightness and contrast and took the test again...67. Almost as bummed out as getting 131 on the Stanford-Binet.

Oh well, I'm still a good person! My cat loves me! ;-)

Sad, funny, tragic! I have no horror stories but after reading these I am really missing my grandparents. Not their stuff but their wonderful selves! Time to head home and cook up some homemade food in my cozy little home, curl up with the photo album and then call mom.

I'm outsourcing the lawn this year. I never got to it in a timely manner, I don't enjoy running the mower and it was just stressing me out.

It is the single happiest decision I've made since pulling up the carpet and putting down bamboo floor.

Time is limited. Spending it on something I find wholly unenjoyable is not worth my precious time.

There is a difference between clean and spotless. I think the cleaning routines we get ourselves into these days are way overboard for the majority of non-immunodeficient people.

I love the mixed curtains in the living room. It would be too much of one curtain on that wall. Its a problem I have and I'm gonna steal this idea.
