They appear to be unique and interesting. If you love them, it’s worth it, though I would shop around. You can get something similar online, new but not with the wood base that these have.

Sacramento use to be a cheap place to rent but with all the forclosures rents are increasing every month.

2 bedroom (Low $800)
(High $1200)
(Some exspensive lofts near the Capital $2000+)

The tile on the back wall is beautiful.

I actually like that linoleum flooring. If that was original and in good condition I think you might have blundered there.

All the other updates are terrific.

I’m guessing the hunkiest guys on apartment therapy, ever. The interior barn doors for the upstairs rooms are great.

Good idea. It’s like a reverse fairy home and public service announcement all at once.

I paint things when my partner is away. It's really scary. I think that, if i was single, I might have a problem.

Some of MCM has become a fad. Good furniture design will always be good design, but this obsession with “Modern from a particular era” will die down eventually. That Saarinen table will probably always look classic but that starburst clock will not.

In northern california the builders Eichler and Streng built amazing, affordable ranch style homes. Much like how Stanford University was originally supposed to be for the average person, these homes now sell for $600k+.

I love your place! It's so clean and the style is very good with so many budget pieces. Now to go find some tree branches for my living room.

I appraise high end homes in Northern California and can usually spot trends on the horizon, obviously granite is on it’s way out and has been for a while, but gold fixtures have been popping up, not shinny ones and not in old styles but brushed gold in modern styles.
On another note, poured terrazzo flooring is coming back with a vengeance, especially in mid century style homes. Just my 2c.

I love all string lighting on patios. Done correctly and you can make it look like you stepped into a Lewis Carroll book.

@Village

I did the same thing! The previous owner of my house had brown carpet in the kitchen. I almost puked when i saw it. I put in continuious large white rectangular tiles in the kitchen, laundry room and mudroom area.

I kept the white cabinets that came with the house and just replaced the brown tile counter tops with some black man-made stone.

After knobs and new lighting total cost was about $5000. I almost spent another $4000 to put in poured terrazzo but then realized I was being crazy.
