My 1958 kitchen screams for an orange Smeg. However, I rent and someday I will own a place to keep a Smeg. Who knows which color that space might need? So, for the meantime, I bought a white 10cf LG. I would never, ever, go back to a large scale refrigerator.

And yes, I bought a fridge for a rental. Welcome to Los Angeles, where refrigeration is a privilege, not a right.

Dysons rock. Who told me so? My younger brother, whom I did not think had ever used a vacuum.

Santa Monica, California. I work in the arts and no, I am not in the entertainment industry. I pay about 65% of my rather meager income towards rent on a tiny, rather rundown apartment. Hence, my love of shelter porn.

I gave up sunny LA for a while and tried out Houston, halving my rent and tripling my space. I could have even bought a darling house, walking distance to work, in the one of the most interesting neighborhoods in town. After three years, I took the first opportunity to move back to LA. (Sorry, H-town, I do love some things about you.) I may never own a home, but I will never again give up LA's incredible blend of nature and culture.

I wish I had balked or bought it on iTunes. I miss Domino. Maybe buying supports the return of the real thing? One can dream.

I live in Santa Monica, CA, in a mid-century building with mid-century glass slat windows. This essentially means that my windows are never truly closed and that there is a fine layer of black dust over everything at all times, no matter how often I clean! I love my ocean breezes, but someday I'd love to try living in a sealed up place with central air!

LA...Santa Monica.

$1725 for 800 square feet in a seen-better-days 1960s building. However, I walk to the beach and everything else in the ultimate car city.. That's the most I would pay and unfortunately, that is what I pay.

If I went east, I could have the same place for $1200. I'd also have rather a miserable commute.

Location, location, location.

Arc lamp but not Arco. It's lovely. I am assuming it is a FIND rather than from the Depot. Please answer kelliblue's inquiry.

I bought the 24" LG to replace a massive old clunker. I love it. When the delivered that fridge, they brought me a larger apartment and more disposable income. I waste less, spend less on energy, and eat more healthfully. No regrets.
