I used to do this on our wooden stairs with a super slippery sleeping bag. I never injured myself but the wall did get a hole in it once, I think from a friend. So much fun, wish I had stairs for my boys to do this A DIY Stairway Slide The Contemplative Creative |

What about if they were transfers that you could easily peel off when you'd had enough of the pattern? It'd definitely be a yes from me if that was the case and with all the decals out there now you could put anything on or make your own with contact paper. Yay or Nay? Chevron Patterned Fan Blades |

I think a worm farm is a much better idea. They are quicker, and not smelly at all. They take almost no work and there's no need to dig trenches or holes and they make awesome soil for the garden and if a few straggler worms go in the garden they work well in there too. I'm not sure if Pyrethin sprays are available to you guys over there but it's a natural product that I'm sure was developed here in New Zealand but has since been bought out by Raid and copied by Mortein. The advantage of these big companies now being involved is there are also outdoor versions available too. Check out http://www.raidautomatic.co.nz/ An Eco-Friendly Covered Sandbox My Great Outdoors |

When I was a kid (and now too actually) I was such a wriggler that I fell out of a couple of bunk beds (friends or on holiday) so I quickly chose to only sleep on the bottom bunks and I think I've had a little fear of them ever since. A Platform Bed That's More Like A Treehouse |

Cute if you live in an apartment and haven't got access to an area to dig up and learn about gardening but if you are doing this solely to save on dirt then that is so sad. Sensory Bin Idea: A Black Bean Planter Ebb and Flow |

Jane and Amber, I did this to our chandeliers 11 years ago on the first weekend we moved into our home. They were similar to the ones pictured here but also had wood in the centre. I intended to replace the lights throughout so wasn't concerned with how long the finish might last and painted them with a brush and artists acrylic paint. This meant I didn't need to remove them or worry about messy spray paint.....11 years on and I've never felt the need to replace them, the paint has never chipped and they still look great.
