I wonder if it's like riding a bicycle? For those of us who macrame'd umpteen years ago, would the process come rushing back?

Even now, I don't recall quickly how to do the knots -- but I can tell you exactly where in my house I did it and how I had the area set up!

I'm no longer really impressed by Bed, Bath & Beyond - at least our local ones. The last couple of times I've been in there it felt like a low end Walmart or Target. Aisles and aisles of shampoo, deoderant, makeup, etc. NOT the stuff I shop BBB for. Their cleaning supplies selection is awful as well - and it used to be pretty good.

Spouse has a digital contact manager for the people he's in contact with on a somewhat regular basis. There are others though that are VERY rare (if ever) but he needs to keep the info. He also has membership cards with eleventy seven different hotels.

We purchased some plastic binder pages that are slotted for business cards. It stays in the trunk of his work car. Info is always there when he needs it. There have also been times that he can't recall the company name OR contact - but will recognize them from the logo on the biz card.

He doesn't have to spend a ton of time digitizing something he may never need again. But he does have the info in case he does need it.

Kudos to mschatelaine. Our obsession with having a lot of stuff and getting it cheap has long been the issue.

Thanks for trying cobalt!

I never thought I'd be willing to pay $80 for a soap dispenser. But I do agree it's the prettiest one I've ever seen and would pay that price if I could ever find it again.

I fell in love with a wall mount soap dispenser from Napa Style. Sadly it's no longer offered and I've never seen anything similar elsewhere. I've only seen it in one home here on AT.

Ditto nene. Much like polkadots. Small doses. And not in each and every room please.

It looks like you can find them at Lowes or order them thru Menards.

I did a search for bifold doors without louver and got quite a few hits. Some were like a french door with glass panes and actually kind of pretty.

Personally, I'd opt more toward a slider. Bifolds seem to come off track frequently. A slider with narrow panels would be my preference.

IMO no one does white quite as well as Benita at Chez Larsson. All of her rooms have that bright crispness without being stark.

I am in a profession where January is the busiest month of the year for me. I've always loved January home project sites but can never participate and keep my sanity at the same time.

It would be great if something like this could be repeated mid year for those of us that just can do it in January.

Like them in VERY small doses.

In the summer when I get festive with pedicures, I'll sometimes do one toe with polka dots.

We purchased our bedroom furniture a few years ago from Vermont Woods. Yes, it was a major splurge. It was the first brand new bedroom furniture either DH or I had ever owned. It's truly beautiful and I'm glad we love it - because it's built to last forever!

I love the comments in this post. It's nice to find myself in the company of people who view books as something other than decorative paper bricks.

Love Antonio and I always like seeing his designs. Yes, they're 'out there' and I sort of doubt I'd want to lie with it 24/7 in my living room or bedroom. However, I appreciate the unusual and daring from time to time. It would be something fun to look at and chat about over a meal.

ITA with Stormi. That and the animal hide rugs - those are two trends I'll be more than happy when they're done. Don't care if they're faux or not. Just no appeal for me.

Transitions aren't bifocals. Transitions is the automatic darkening feature that can be embedded in the lense. Bifocals without lines are Progressives. I have both.

Must get eyes checked. At first read I thought the headline said "Yam bobbing" and I was thinking that would be awfully difficult for anyone, much less for a child.

Frames can be so hideously expensive. FWIW, I did a quick search and it looks like the price for most of the frames in this line is $380-400. By the time you add the price for the corrective lense, transitions or tint, protective coating, etc. you're probably at $700. Add bifocals and you're over $800.

I love trendy eyewear but I'm leary of it. Personally, I look for frames that I'm willing to live with for quite a few years.
