I LOVE that first rug but all I can think is that it must be a beast to vacuum.

I love Honeycrisp and Pink Ladies too.
I grew up with Jonathan apples and those were the only ones my grandmother would use but they are hard to find in my area. I miss them terribly :(

Yay! Perfect timing!!
I was looking for an easy, robust vegetable stock. I usually make soup, lentils of quinoa with chicken/beef stock and now I can make these without alienating the vegetarians in our family.
Thank you!

I''m sorry, I don't like the CFL's.
I don't like the light they put out, and I don't like that they need to warm up (and a couple of other reasons but I won't go into it.)
I am willing to compromise though!
I have put the CFL's in every ceiling light, in the bathroom lights etc.etc. but let me have the incandescents for the two bedside lamps!

I love the swing over the pool..*le sigh*
I also love the third one but those shark mosaics (as beautiful as they are) would freak me out every time! Makes me think of Alligator(1980) when the kid jumps into the pool...CHOMP!

Your house turned out sooo cute! I do like that you took the bush down..it was just too big.
You can pretty much do any kind of landscaping and have it look a little more polished.
I would lean toward something that had a lot of color like a euonymus (burning bush) or a black and blue salvia (not sure how well it would grow?) but that's just my opinion..

Do you have problems making them in the hot sticky weather???
My mom makes pralines and peanut brittle and she usually waits until fall or around the holidays when the weather is cool and dry because she says they don't turn out right when it's humid.

Though it's really hard to capture the effect in photos, it's beautiful!! it must be even more so in person. I really want to try this!!
Now I'm just sad about being in an apartment that won't let us paint :(

I love this! I wish I had known about the LED lights!
I did this in our apartment kitchen with a small string of plug in fairy lights (about 20 bulbs, used for wreaths and floral arrangements.)
I had to get creative taping down bulbs and wires. My mom and dad are getting ready to remodel their kitchen so I will send them the links! Thank you

Yes, I do lose motivation to cook (especially baking) but I usually get my motivation back after going to the farmers market. After seeing the beautiful tomatoes, cucumbers, watermelons, fresh herbs etc.etc... I wind up getting farmersmarketoverloadus.
Besides.. what better time to make gazpacho?

A lot of these just look silly and complicated...
I agree with Julia2711 and ph33,
A ladle or squeeze bottle is so much cheaper and easier to clean...

I like the idea of IKEA, but I just can't make it work.
I was trying to set up our apartment before my husband came home from overseas and I would have sold my soul for the Expedit bookcases..I went to order them online. I was sooo excited! My total came to between $200-$300 and then when I put my purchase through I saw the shipping...it was actually MORE than my purchase.....NO! Hell NO!
I immediately called and cancelled my order.
I know I may be spoiled by other online shopping but I just can't justify spending more on the shipping than my purchase.
I wish I had thought to try some of these other options.

I agree with bepsf, the flesh/terracotta paint makes everything blend together. I think if you paint them ANY other color it would be enough to brighten things up. I also agree about the backsplash, it would be a good space for something funky and colorful.

Wow!!! So amazing...I'm swooning over everything..the colors, the bathroom, the bedrooms, the crochet deer head, that kitchen table, the vegetable basket thing..*sigh*
And I would've stabbed somebody in the throat for that dollhouse as a child...I would still but I'm not so stabby anymore...
I love it all!!! Fantastic!

Ohhh I love it!!!
It's like an old-school carnival side show without the tent covering and laid out and organized by a Victorian naturalist.

I love CoolSofa too!! I ordered a sectional from them and I loooove it.
