This is perfect! I just moved into my house and I'm hosting thanksgiving this year. I've got a big blank wall and no time or money! Thanks!

Easy, Cheap Holiday DIY Decorating Idea for Blank, Empty Wall Spaces

I recently found the same chair also on the side of the road *for free* and the upholstery is definitely not a project for a novice. I am a well seasoned seamstress and I'm even a little overwhelmed by it. You'll probably need to replace the cushions with new foam, and have a look at the springs to see what shape they are in.

I agree with the "no poly". Wood like this can normally be sanded with a fine grit sandpaper or 0000 steel wool and be oiled with Watco Danish Oil or Teak Oil. Give it a nice wax finish. Be careful taking apart the arms from the cushions. It's probably got plugs to hide the screws. If you damage the plugs when removing them you may be able to replace them but they may not match. I was able to remove mine without damage. I just used a very small flat head screw driver and used caution.

Good luck! Do your research, take your time.

I've always been in love with the set design of the Royal Tennenbaums. It's hands down, my favorite movie.

I wonder what it looks like in the neighborhood as a whole. Sometimes renovated houses can stick out like a sore thumb; like they don't belong.

I can appreciate the design, for sure, but I think applications like that should be carefully considered in all aspects.

When are we going to see something new? Isn't everyone tired of the ombre and chalk paint by now?

I love the chandelier and the boston terrier on the table. I used to have one that was a planter, I had daisies in it. Someone broke it and it just about broke my heart.

Love your space, I "favorited" it.

I'm so glad that more people are shutting off the cable and going to the streaming players. I hope this wakes up the cable companies. I live in an area where we only have 2 options for cable and they are both raping people left and right. I'm so glad to be free from cable, however, I still have to use them for internet service. Boo.

I have neither a facebook nor a twitter account and I use pinterest. You don't have to give them that information. And dancedancekj, you don't have to sift through other people's pins to find what you like. With their "pin it" button, you can pin all day the things you like from the sites you visit and not be bothered by the repeated pins of others.

15 to 30 minute timeouts?? I do a minute per year of age. My son would be sitting there with his head between his knees waiting for the sand to run out.

I did this with my girls' dresser. I used the glidden paint samples to paint each drawer, so I didn't have to buy too much paint of each color. The little sample bottles were more than enough.

I made a reading nook for my kids that was totally removable. Building a bench should help with the foot boards. Here's the one I did. http://yvette-keeping-it-real.blogspot.com/2011/05/closet-turned-reading-nook.html

It makes it feel cozy. I don't think it's necessarily for blocking off sleep space. Adds interest and I think kids would love it.

I just read your comment lillabilly. I love it! I love that kids can still use their imagination instead of needing electronics. Especially to play games on what is intended for use as a phone.

I still can't believe parents let their children play with their expensive electronics. I don't let my kids even look at my phone! My 9 year can text and play some games but its off limits to the rest of them! Guess that's because I can't afford to just fork over the mulah to get a new one if they destroy it!
