I am about to take on a huge project of sanding, waterpopping, dyeing and staining and then sealing my maple floors.

They are currently done in a clear lacquer which is in need of serious repair. The floors are relatively new however the previous owners had four children who took that floor to hell and back.

I like the look of medium walnut but I also like the red hints such as cherry etc. What would you recommend?

It's a refinished bungalow. The entire top floor has all wood floors. They are all light and not very appealing to my design tastes.

I want darker maple floors.....I don't care of the stain doesn't go on even. I like the look of it being different. I realize they will not be perfect and I do not expect it.
