Re: choosing summit vs fisher & paykel, this is actually one area where I did not do a ton of research. we basically went with what was available at Gringers. i recall that there was another brand but it was way over budget so summit it was!

Re: whether it's counterdepth, i think it's actually the same depth as our old one, just not as wide. I was actually a little worried about space, both in the fridge and the freezer, (b/c I like me a stocked fridge...) but it's actually been fine. the freezer space is definitely limited and the drawers are kind of annoying b/c they're not on gliders but I'm okay with it. to save space, i'm a little better about "remembering" what's in there and I also take frozen pizzas and the like out of their packaging, etc etc.

Pimento cheese is the bomb. I like to make it in its simplest form, with grated sharp cheddar cheese, pimentos, mayo, salt & pepper and a healthy sprinkling of cayenne. Serve with triscuits and be transported back South.

I used Fabrica in Prospect Heights (Vanderbilt & St. Marks) to recover some chairs I got off of CL. I was very pleased and the price was reasonable (don't know about pick up/delivery b/c we live down the street). Demi is the owner's name and she is a gem. I can send before & after pics also.

Hi. We also are looking for smaller appliances for our kitchen renovation. We looked at several places last week and I thought the Summit refrigetors looked very cheap.
