Matt I have the same patio glider in yellow :)
My house is 440 sf. I appreciate AT featuring a house with low ceilings. I am tired of blogs always telling us smallspaces to "go vertical" and featuring these gorgeous loft spaces with custom built bedroom nooks. While awesome, it is also impossible if your ceiling is low to average height. You do a great job keeping your feet on the ground. Also the large windows make a huge difference in opening up the looks of a small space.

When my parents were first starting out they lived in a travel trailer. You know, the kind you hook up behind your Chevy Blazer and go roadtripping in. My brother, as a baby, slept in a drawer, while my parent's bed converted into the dining table.
I love all the small space ideas for families! Now my nieces (children of Drawer-Sleeper) had their own private bedrooms but were sleeping in the same bed every night by choice, so now they have bunkbeds and no one uses the other room. Kids love to have company at bedtime - why are sleepovers so popular? This only makes sense to me.

Loving the grey/green theme here with pops of orange. I don't quite get "river" from it but I enjoy it anyway. To the haters I say, who among you wouldn't really like to live in a chic hotel where mail and laundry didn't pile up? Some days I dream about just checking into a nice hotel after work instead of going home so I don't have to face the clutter! But I am striving for a more streamlined home life.

Bear in mind that she does have some level of celebrity, and may intentionaly have kept the personal out of it just for her own peace of mind.

The children's bunk beds built into a shared space revive a 40's floorplan idea without looking dated. This is kind of my dream for a full time house. just sayin' - love it =)

My mom made me custom couch cushions after the originals were destroyed. It was not a standard size. She used this company in Rochester NY. she brought the cover she had made right to them and they filled it on the spot. Very friendly.

I agree 08miccor, when you have under 500sf it doesn't make sense to have it anywhere else unless you are in a warm climate where you can have it outside. This blog is all about working with the space you have and making it shine. Incidentally my laundry supplies stow very well underneath my kitchen sink, right next to the counter spray and garbage bags.

Love Ikea. I get so many compliments on my gorgeous wooden countertops and my secretary desk fits exactly the space I need it to, hiding away all my messy desk stuff. Hate my Ikea wardrobe, but can't have everything at once, so while I dream about building a new closet, it gets the job done.

Hi
Love this post and the comments are super helpful - thanks everyone! I am seriously considering going the route of sleeper sofa as bed and the top of my list is the king size Natasha from American Leather.
Can anyone comment on the daily chore of folding/unfolding the bed? I live in 440sf and this will free up a lot of floor space, but the BF doesn't think it is worth it because he doesn't think it is a true gain i.e. you have to keep the 'landing' area clear if you want to open the bed, and the chore of closing may be too much for me some mornings it may not happen. Thoughts on daily life with a sleeper??
