I am an Easy Waker, although I choose classical music rather than ambient noises. I don't like being jolted awake, so I need an alarm that fades in.

Love all of these! (I was going to put, "especially #blah blah bah," but they are all great.)

Concrete form. It even says it in a caption.

The jet boil and the headlamps are also KEY when you are snowed in for days at a time with no power. The coffee attachment for the jetboil basically kept me sane last October when we lost power for 6 days. The headlamps are also great for reading in the car at night, I wish they had been around when I was a kid, reading in the backseat by the headlights of the cars behind us.

The toothpaste tablets from Lush are... interesting. The ones I tried were more soapy tasting than toothpaste normally is, but I do think they worked ok once I got past the flavor.

AHEM: These are CONCRETE planters. Remember, cement is to concrete what flour is to fruitcake. A cement planter would be messy.

My mint does ok, as does my oregano and rosemary, but I can't get basil to grow at all. I use wire baskets with coconut fill, morning sun, afternoon shade, and I try to keep the soil moist but not soaking.

Having rosemary is awesome though. And, it's wicked resilient, it kept growing last October even after a freak snowstorm killed everything else.

I especially agree with "Speak Up". I had a massage one time where she used a lot of pressure on my shoulders and back, and at the time, I thought, "oh well, I'm sure it will feel better afterward,"... but I ended up bruised and pretty sore for days, and have not gone again. After reading this, maybe I'll give it another go.

Feather. I have a really hard time sleeping in new places, and it takes me forever to recalibrate.

@RufTufCreamPuff: I am also a fan of White Noise Lite, although my favorite setting is airplane. Which I have to use to drown out the stupid crickets outside my house this time of year, funny enough. Noisy buggers.

When we moved into the new house, we went out on a limb and picked Stuart Gold for the living/dining room... and haven't regretted it at all. In some light it can look a bit icky (I'm looking at you, overly white CFL's), but overall, it's been a joy.

The lack of window coverings in the master bedroom would not work for me- I'd be awake as soon as the sun came up!

The house is pretty, but I agree with the comments that it's cold, but I've always been partial to warm, cozy spaces.

On the other hand, please do not be passive aggressive and bang on your ceiling when you think the people above you are walking too heavily, especially if you've never bothered to introduce yourself, let alone voice your concerns face-to-face. This happened to me with new downstairs neighbors, and I seriously developed a complex about it, to the point where our house search went from "when the time is right" to "right now".

Hmm, bedroom 3 appears to have no doors, and there's no door from bedrooms 2 and 4 into the main hallway? Is anyone else seeing this?

The other thing I would crave from this house is the immense attic. Kid me always wondered why that wasn't someone's room.

We inherited a sweet ride-on lawn mower (which they tried to use to negotiate up the price, but ended up just leaving anyway), a couple pooper scoopers, and a few unused shotgun shells in the attic, which I turned over to the town police.
