I've been known to leave behind breaded chicken cutlets, lasagna, fried cauliflower with Farfalla pasta, things that keep well in the fridge and are easily warmed in the microwave or fine cold. I'm totally guilty of bringing my unprotected laptop into the kitchen. Because I have such a tiny kitchen it usually gets a little dirty (though fortunately nothing horrible has spilled on it yet), usually a bit of flour, which I can only imagine what it is doing to the insides. In terms of highlighting and making notes on recipes, there is always this site: http://www.awesomehighlighter.com/ Which allows you to highlight and make notes on websites. I am usually cooking for myself and my wife. I have a recipe over at American Madness for a Pineapple Hot Sauce- http://americanmadness.com/?p=347 It's really tasty, has a nice bit of sweetness before the spiciness. I actually had a couple of problem with Bittman's article. I cook a bunch and felt like there were things he glossed over- like suggesting only 1 cutting board.
