Move the matching armchair towards the door about 6 or 8 inches so that it doesn't feel like you're pretending to have a sectional sofa. Add a rug, get those extra pillows up off of the floor by stuffing them in a basket or some closet somewhere (same goes for the blanket on the chair), hang BIG ART, swap the little globe lamp for something taller, re-cover the throw pillows on the couch, flowers of course, and suddenly: wow, what a nice looking living room! I stay drunk on Hot Toddy: 1 ounce of scotch, 1/2 ounce of spiced rum, 1/2 ounce of triple sec (or grand marnier - yum!), 1/2 ounce of lemon juice, a hefty dollop of honey, hot water to nearly fill the mug, and a camomile tea bag left to steep in the mixture for about five minutes - and then heartily wrung-out into the tea. Pork ribs. No, really; I'm serious. Marinate the ribs for a couple of hours or even a full 24 hours in: half a pot of brewed coffee, 2 tablespoons of brown sugar, a few cloves of crushed garlic, and a dash of: cinnamon, nutmeg, cayenne, salt, and pepper. Then put the ribs in a roasting pan with a lid (or topped with aluminum foil), pour the marinade back over top of the ribs, and roast them in a 300F oven for 3 hours, turning the ribs over in the marinade about halfway through.
