My husband and I collect vintage milkglass (Pyrex, FireKing, Hazel-Atlas, Federal, etc.) and we have a ton of mugs. One way we dressed up a boring hallway is to display the shelves of colorful mugs. They are resting on STRIPA shelves from IKEA, perfect depth for the mugs and for a narrow-ish hallway. Great Tips for Multiples: How To Display a Collection |

My husband and I just bought a 1954 ranch home with a bathroom that still has its original jadeite green tub, sink and toilet. I love the green so we'll be keeping them, but it'll be quite a challenge to bring the room up to date. Thanks for the inspiration! Tranquility Awaits: Green In The Bathroom |

I'm also in the camp of keeping the wood cabinets as-is - they're gorgeous! Perhaps to contrast the warm tone of the wood, paint the walls a cool tone, with a cool-toned tile backsplash to match. Cabinet/drawer handles can be changed to a less sombre material (brushed nickle perhaps?), and don't forget drapes on the window - maybe a nice informal roman shade to add a little softness and a bit of color? why does everyone slather white paint to cover their natural wood cabinetry? some do make sense, but #8 looks like gorgeous wood to me. it seems like a shame to cover it up. Renovation Inspiration: 10 Kitchen Before & Afters |
