I'm glad a family is living in my fantasy house. Just how did AT get in my head to take these pictures?

What is the recipe used for the picture?

My train of thought as follows, "Oh wow, that's awesome. I wonder how much it costs? I could put it next to the big bookcase, J___ would never get out of it. He'd read for hours! Probably snack while he's in it... spill stuff... even if the cover is removable, it's too big for the washer... it'd take to long to vacuum, I'd never have time to sit and enjoy it. Too complicated. Ugh, I'm lazy. Never mind."

If you are far-sighted, WEAR YOUR GLASSES while washing up.
My mother, who is famous in our circles for keeping a spotless home, has been having trouble with this area lately. Whenever she come to my house and washes up for me, I always have to rewash the dishes once she leaved because there are dirty. But I love that she tries!

I bought my 6qt Dutch oven from World Market for $60. I've used it a million times and it's as gorgeous as ever, not a chip. The meats brown beautifully and always cooks evenly. I do get extra pleasure out of knowing I can make awesome dishes without having spent hundreds of $ on the cookware.

I had a neighbor who was a retired set designer gone mad. He spent all year (literally beginning in January) decorating his front lawn into whatever holiday was approaching. Giant Easter eggs and rabbits, coffins and giant spiders, turkeys, Christmas wonderland. Some of the installations were permanent. He had such elaborate and ambitious plans, he never actually completed any of the projects. As a result, in the 7 years we lived there, we never got a cohesive view of his visions.

It is, without a doubt, impeccably decorated. While lovely, it's slightly lacking in personality for my taste. Not unlike a hotel suite. Too themed to garner my love.

I love the decor here. It's cheerful, kitschy, and cool. But this is the biggest question that pops into my head whenever I see photos like these: HOW do you keep it clean and dust free? Hiring someone has, without fail, resulted in broken objects in my experience and I don't have the time to move everything!

My mother was raised in a military family and I was obligated to make my bed this way as a child as well. The learning process did not produce the happiest of childhood memories but it does make for a beautiful bed now. However, I definitely don't make my son make his bed in this style...

I really like these bedrooms (with the exception of #3. The wallpaper/Dennis Hopper combo looks rather maniacal!) Although I love color and innovation, I am a fan of "boring" design in the bedroom. My life has enough stimuli and I have difficulty falling asleep, so this would really suit me.
