Second that! Super cool, but where does one find the small tension rods?

Last Christmas I made Alton Brown's mincemeat pie which includes suet (basically beef fat) but used my own crust instead of his cornmeal piecrust-which just didn't sound right. It turned out really good.

Also, the Two Hairy Bikers (hilarious British cooking/travel show) looks like they have a good one:

Be careful- there is a typo, there should be 8oz butter for the crust.

Whatever, as long as it tastes good! I wonder if you could modify this to make pumpkin donuts. Perhaps using pumpkin butter instead of apple butter?

Great article by Bruni. It is really disappointing to see so much hate and negativity here. I am a fan of both Bourdain and Paula Deen. We some really interesting shows from both and Paula is just a delight to watch. I get how so much happiness can rub some people the wrong way, but I enjoy her. Of course you aren't supposed to eat such rich food every day, but for a special holiday, she has some great recipes that don't require a lot of processed food (OK yes she make velveeta fudge- but you could make her fresh fruit pies instead for a special dessert). Her son, Bobby, has also come out with some lighter versions of her recipes. And, she really is nothing like Sandra Lee- very unfair to lump them in together. Really, have you seen her Kwanzaa Cake? But then again, to each their own.

Though the final kitchen is nice, I LOVE the midway kitchen much more. (More my style.) It had loads of character and that metal backsplash was fantastic!

Very lovely. Has a beachy free feeling. I like that you can tell people actually live here as opposed to other homes that are too austere and decorated and seem like they just stepped out of design class. Well done, your house is a home.

Oooh let's see:

1) Smoking (all different kinds- chemical/herb/misc.)- gets in my apt.
2) Smoking and their fire alarm goes off at 2am- often.
3) Coming home at 2 or 3am with their friends, singing/yelling loudly as they walk past my apt and bang on the walls.
4) Drunk friends attempt to open my door about 50 times before they realize it's the wrong door.
5) Loud video games/music.
6) Their fights in the street in the wee hours.
7) They called the cops once because one of their enemies was banging on the apt. complex door. They forgot they called cop until he came barging in. Shouting. Banging on the doors.

Wish I could pick up my apt and move it!

This house is unique, special, and filled with ideas that everyone can take away! Hey, it doesn't hurt to look at a big house now and then. I'm surprised at the upset. Even if you don't care for some of it, it helps you define what you do like!
