A big improvement..great paint color and love the white sideboard. There are a few things I'd change though..the little wood stove needs to go(unless of course it's a permanent fixture), add a rug in neutral colors to soften things up, maybe add some white curtain panels, and ditch that little table between the windows. And I agree about bringing back the plant..maybe in the corner where the stove is.
Before & After: From 1991 to 21st Century Dining Room

We just had our early 90's-style master bath remodeled, and replaced the never-used soaking tub with a large, custom shower. The shower that was originally in the bathroom was a tiny, pre-fab fiberglass unit with a shower curtain. Considering my husband and I shower at least once a day, we decided that it made more sense to give up the tub and go with a luxurious shower instead. If we'd had the space we probably would have kept the tub, but it just wasn't possible. The spot of the former shower now has custom cabinet and counter space giving us some extra storage that we really needed.

A bench of some sort seems the logical choice, and love the idea of the church pew. Maybe even metal or wrought iron. I'd avoid anything upholstered as I assume this area wouldn't be meant for people to lounge..no need for anything too comfy or high-maintenance. Maybe add some cushions in a Sunbrella-type fabric.
What Can I Put In This Space?

There's just something about white curtains blowing in the breeze that takes my breath away. I just put some in my family room and kitchen and wonder why I didn't do it sooner.
