Eli is adorable! I love the room you created for him. I love the colors, the vintage elements, and the calm simplicity of the space. What a lovely place to be a baby and toddler. Well done.

Maybe I've been reading too many British mystery novels.

It still is a lovely, well-designed space.

Wonderful! This is how I've always imagined sophisticated Londoners live.

Very lovely. I like how you've used modern furniture in a way that works with the (fabulous) older architecture of your apartment. I would love to see a photo of the bedroom also.

I love your bed too! Did you build it? I'd love to hear more about your house's history and how you organized it. Cute kitty, too.

I agree, those windows are to die for!
I was trying to figure out how the lofted bed fit in the space too.
It really does seem like a sanctuary.

Now I understand the DWR name, but they're still way OUT of reach for me.

Very cool and intriguing. I have to read more about it -- and look at the photos on something larger than my cellphone.

@ Megan in AZ, Adreamer, Chandra @ Del Mar Fans, and Jeanne52 -- I agree.

The teen boy's room had three dog statues on the bed's only night stand. There's no room for a glass of water or a book. Plus, those lovely dogs would be broken accidentally by my cats -- or by me, in about one week.

Des Moines is wonderful. It's a hidden gem - interesting architecture and sculpture, and friendly people.

5 Reasons Why Your Partner Doesn't Actually Want to Go to the Farmers Market With You

Fresh organic produce -- great.
Supporting local farmers -- great.
The farmers' market scene -- not so much.
In California, we have them all year long. There's never an excuse not to eat your vegetables. I've also dodged those SUV-sized strollers, felt obliged to buy food I sampled, and chatted when I wanted to move on.
I did enjoy visiting the Des Moines Farmers' Market, especially getting fresh beans from the Iowa Coffee Company, and eating a made-to-order omelet outdoors.
Thanks for permission not to LOOVVE farmers' markets.

Nature's Miracle helped me take care of and clean up after three, elderly ailing cats. Two are now in Kitty Heaven (sigh). My third, a grand old lady of twenty, doesn't have great aim. Nature's Miracle works well cleaning the litter box and the floor. It also works well on fabrics and even on my memory foam mattress topper. Thank heaven!

I got Fresno, Stockton, and Modesto, which was surprising. I've lived in Santa Barbara for a long time, but was raised on the East Coast and in Hawaii by parents from the Midwest. Lee Vining was the closest I ever got to Fresno, Stockton, and Modesto. No offense to the three fine cities named above, but somehow I was hoping for somewhere more glamorous and cosmopolitan. Ah, such vanity!

My first thought was like kittyAtlanta's: Noooooooo.

While I recognize the skill, craftsmanship, and use of materials in creating these works of art, they were not my taste back in the 70's and still aren't.
