Classic Century is made out of earthenware, which is probably the least durable type of ceramic. It is prone to chipping and crazing (those tiny hairline cracks). I own this dinnerware but it stays on display until I have a dinner party. I wouldn't recommend that anyone purchase it for their everyday dinnerware. Earthenware is sensitive to extreme changes in heat and isn't going to hold up as well in the dishwasher. So beautiful, yes. Durable, not so much. Will you like it longer than your Ikea set? yes. Will it last longer? yes, if you like hand-washing your dishes.

Shilojean, do you know for a fact that UO and Anthropologie has the same upholstery vendors or are you making an educated guess?

I do have to say that this post is pretty hilarious. I agree with quiltmaster. Not to dog on rag rugs....they have their place and time but they are what they are. (And $200 for a 3x5 rag rug is not exactly what I would call affordable.)

I agree Haley, I wish there was another picture. I think it could be charming in a Country Living sort of way. I'm not how I would feel about it in a more modern backyard.

I like the mod idea as well...I would opt maybe for a high gloss white table to contrast with the heavy wood.

Hasina, I don't think that everyone who purchases a "knock-off" piece is trying to pretend that they own the original or is trying trick people into believing that they do. I think that judgement maybe a little presumputious. Maybe people just enjoy the design but can't afford it. What do you feel about pieces that are inspired by the original but aren't trying to be a perfect clone?

I might be imagining things but I am pretty sure World Market carries those dust pans (not in all of the colors..I remember seeing silver and red). I saw them at the World Market in Oak Brook and Anthropologies definitely sells the kitchen timers.

The CB2 pony chair in oat wouldn't match a white table (even though it does look white in the picture)...it really is a grayish cream. Hence... the name oat.
