You sand inbetween coats to smooth out dust or other small particles that have fallen onto the piece during the dry time. You are lightly sanding, so you will not take away (much) from the previous stain(s).

using a paint brush is, surprisingly, easier and much for efficient than spraying. the brushstrokes generally settle while the paint is drying. good luck meggieru

she's a mini poodle, our best buddy.

completely agree with the relatively boring comment about the couch. we at least need to get some cool pillows.
