I love color too, but I prefer to keep my kids' rooms a little more on the quiet side to help them calm down when it's time for sleep. I can't imagine trying to take an afternoon nap in the neon orange room! A Rainbow of Bright Nursery Walls |

I live in a big city, regularly feel the grass under my feet in my yard, see lots of wildlife, catch fireflies with my son, shop in independent stores and know the owners, and know (and even like) all my neighbors. But I get the added advantage of walking everywhere, public transportation, diversity, world-class museums, even the beach! Count me in as a city mouse. We (somewhat crazily) adopted a puppy (pit bull) when I was 5 months pregnant, and we too worked with a trainer to integrate baby-friendly behavior into his training. It's now three years later and the dog is more tolerant of my son than anyone else in the world. I also give complete credit to my very energetic dog for keeping me in shape while pregnant and helping me lose the baby weight with those twice-daily walks. I'll admit it: I just don't shower everyday. And actually, my skin is much happier! At first I showered with a bouncy seat in the bathroom, then showered during morning naps once my son was on a schedule. When he dropped that nap, I switched to night showers, and now that he's 3, I've been testing letting him watch tv for 10 minutes. Luckily our house is tiny and I can see the couch from the shower! How's a New Mom Supposed to Get a Shower? |

The blue is Benjamin Moore 676 ("spirit in the sky"), and the beige is... I have no idea. The majority of our walls were painted that color by the builder and we had a little left over, but there's no color info on it. So sorry! My Room: Calvin Chicago, IL |
