Terrible. This is like keeping a kitten in a closet. Bettas have labyrinth organs and can breathe surface air, but they are tropical fish from Thailand and need a heater and filtration like any other tropical fish. Selling bettas in tiny bowls is big business, but a terrible practice. And very difficult to keep them healthy that way. This picture makes me sad.
I recommend the super modern and slick Fluval Edge or Fluval Chi tanks to those looking to integrate bettas and water into their designs.
