I think you need to look at the room in its entirety. The proportions are not quite right, and this includes the potplant.

I'd either get a larger plant, or put it onto a stand of some kind so it looks like a feature, not a plant that doesn't have a better home somewhere. Likewise, the wall colour is fairly dark and doesn't really go with white blinds- is painting an option? Thirdly, the blinds themselves- you could keep the style but switch them over for a wooden colour which would bring them in line with the table.

When I don't have enough time, that's the moment to assess: do I need to spend the the time sitting and watching the movie or tv show, or should I read/bake/study/excercise instead? We all have limited time, but to me mindfulness is being actively aware that I control the choice in how I use my time.

@emmi I use my keep cup on a daily basis- in the car and on public transport. It's way less likely to spill than a disposable coffee cup! And the lid closes very tightly, so they are very secure. (And CUTE!)

I have no patience for smokers either- what I notice is they close their doors on the balcony, to keep the smoke out of their apartments, but no consideration for my doors and windows being open. It's disgusting and the only thing I dislike about living in an apartment.

I personally bake my pumpkins til they're soft, then scoopy the soft flesh out, and puree :) It's so much easier to just bake them as a half pumpkin, than to cut them up first.

Sponge -- Although you should be regularly replacing your kitchen sponge (right?), you can increase its mileage by nuking your damp sponge in the microwave to kill bacteria.

Can't you just pop that in the wash with your dishtowels? I wouldn't microwave it- although, not owning a microwave, I guess I'm not really a candidate to do that!

It looks pretty large to me, but my perspective is from a person with a small kitchen. The way we work it out at our place is to make sure one person is doing the main cooking for one meal, and asking for help if needed, not all three people in the kitchen at once.

Mix it up to see what works. We switched our living room and dining room just to try it out, and you know what? It sucked. But at least we knew. A week later, we had everything back to normal, but were happy that we had to wonder no more. Sometimes it's not about being original, but being logical about what works.

So by all means, put your bed in the living room for a week and see if it works- why not?! As long as you have a buddy to help you move your stuff, it's a harmless experiment!

We have a teeny tiny kitchen too. I keep a small tin on the bench for scraps/rubbish that comes in small doses. The main bin and recycling bin are across the hallway in the laundry. For all that we have a small kitchen, we're super lucky to have a laundry separate to the bathroom, that can store the organized garbage. So don't think you *have* to keep the garbage in the kitchen, if you need the shelf space under the sink and have a second room. It will confuse the heck out of guests though!!!

We have a four room apartment- obviously much more spacious than a studio, but yeah, we've had seven people there. Two in the main room, housemate in her room, two in the study and one in the lounge! Cosy!

Once in a different place, similar layout, we had three in the study/dining, two in the lounge, three in the guest room and two in the main bedroom, so ten people.

If you like the people, you can squash for a day or two!!! Main thing is the pull the matresses from the living areas into the bedrooms during the day to make those rooms usable!

If you donate them to your library, mark them as donations, rather than just slipping them into the returns chute. Most libraries have a lost property policy which will mean they have to hold on to them and store them for some time before they can be considered for the collection.

I loathe using a dryer. Makes my electricity bill sky high... but my apartment block doesn't care for the aesthetic of drying on the balcony... boo to them! :(

We have a tiny kitchen, and couldn't sacrifice our cupboard space like this. We are lucky enough to have a laundry though, so the bins are in there.
