If you all love the before lamps so much, offer Abby some money to buy them, then remove the paint yourselves! The green lamps were fine, but I would have had no idea that the amazing texture and design lurked under that green paint.

Big memory foam floor cushions in a variety of patterns and colours. They can be stacked anywhere and anyway. Plus as she grows older, you can replace the fabric. They're virtually indestructible, so much so that they can probably last all the way to college and later!

Wow, some of you people are just awful. Yellow and gray go very well together, the curtains are not going to catch fire over the fan--come on! It's a rental, her choices are limited and I know those cupboards, they are terrible (but as rental you cannot do anything about them).Yes, everyone is entitled to their opinion, the pictures are being posted on a decorating sight with comments open to everyone, but I hope that those of you who are so critical aren't as critical to the people in your lives because I suspect you'll all die alone. I am sure that during the day, it is bright and cheerful. The lighting does not seem like it would be a friend to any colors. I'd also like to say ask those people who suggested red if they have ever woken up in the morning and gone into a red kitchen before? It is jarring and makes you feel irritable and on edge, although I am guessing from the comments, many of you are living in red homes.

My apartment is similar, not because I am still building and growing older but because I chose to de-clutter my space and not fill it again with unnecessary 'stuff'. The comments wreak of ageism, as if because she is in her 20's she doesn't know what she wants. I say, don't put window treatments on those windows because they're gorgeous and they bring in so much natural light, it looks as though she is high enough that privacy is not an issue, so window treatments be damned! Edith, I will say it again, great job!

One of my favourite house tours! I could live there and enjoy every minute! Imagine waking up to that bright warm light and yet it's comfy and cozy enough for cold and/or rainy days! Love it!
Although I hope she doesn't have any downstairs neighbours with those heels and the gorgeous hardwood floors lol

Those are great suggestions, you'll find that it does get significantly cooler--a light comfy sweater might be just the ticket. Of course, foods will definitely help--think warm comfort foods. What I would miss the most is the smell of fall so I guess going a little north for the smell of leaves will be therapeutic.

Are you people crazy, 'the before has charm'?! WHAT?! While I prefer a bright kitchen, the after looks far better. And I don't know why people complain about the fridge being too close or cramped. I don't know about you, but if I'm cooking, I want the refrigerator close to me not on the other side of the room. By the way, so what if it's 'generic' and common, the before cupboards were the generic and common ones from about 10-15 yrs ago. I'm very curious what makes your kitchens so original, are they made out of crack or something because then I'd understand your comments. :D
I really like the hardware choices and the black brick backsplash.I think you did a great job, Frank!

I love it! With all of that amazing art and brightly coloured accents, I can't imagine anything better than white walls. Great work, Tyler. I'd definitely be happy living there!

Normally, I cringe when I see a bedroom without any kind of art on the wall, but that bedroom has a feeling of calm. The other details make it interesting (the headboard, the basket etc.). I love the overall apartment because it simply feels like a lovely, warm and wonderful home. Well done.

OK, here's my two cents. First, it's better to be safe than sorry. Second, perhaps he's not crazy and dangerous, perhaps the woman who complained about him is the crazy one. Either way, someone is crazy~~and they're both living next to you. I definitely wouldn't want to be living there.

I actually like white walls (I think it was because I grew up in a home that was constantly being redecorated and re-painted) and once lived in an all wood-panelled apartment (sounds nice to many, just as I thought in the beginning~then it feels like the walls are closing in on you). However, I could not live without putting things on the walls. I found white hooks that are backed with glue, you melt the glue with a lighter, stick it to the wall and stays until you want to take it off. After a while, just pull on it a little and it usually comes off without any indication it was there in the first place.

Banana and peanut butter~my two favorite flavors together! I wonder if this would work with oats instead of bread, to cut the calories a little.

It is definitely dated, and I am so sorry to hear that people came into the home and destroyed it~sad that people have not taught their children to show respect for someone else's property. I look forward to seeing the transformation. Good luck!

Love it. Definitely love every inch of it. I love homes that take advantage of the views and incorporate so many windows into the architecture. But, who aside from people on soap operas actually call homes 'estates' haha Especially when the neighbors are right across the street.

p.s. Additionally, my partner also has some things given to him from friends, and we've added those to the wall too~it's been a tremendous way to incorporate everyone from both of our lives into our space together.

I also love this post, and something simple that I did was to bring the outside inside. I had a group of glass vases in different shapes, I put small/medium rough looking rocks in one, some branches in another and so on. I also have several small prints, collectible displays in frames etc. from around the world that have been given to me and when on their own, they're kind of strange and a little cheesy, but all grouped together on one wall and they make a great display. The wall is definitely a conversation piece and friends buy more pieces for us so they can add to the wall~it also makes them feel like they are a part of our home!
