After they are cooked I use them like any grain. Add them to pancakes, put them in omelettes, add them to salads or put them in soup. Lots of options.

Pillows were replaced 1 month ago, and are washed when the duvet is changed at each equinox. The pillow cases are washed once a week, the duvet cover is washed once a month. Mattress is 8 years old. Still great, but starting to look for a new one. It is turned and rotated when the duvet is changed.

I used to be a feather but I discovered ear plugs and now, as long as I have those I can sleep in the middle of a dance party. And have.

We have lots of BBQ with a mix of attendees. Vegetarian, vegan, meat lovers etc. All guests are asked to bring something to grill. And then a big batch of sangria and some sides are provided. Always works out great for us.

I like it in chili - adds an amazing flavour, put it on air popped popcorn with a little sage and some olive oil for an extra kick, add it to homemade tomato sauce or pizza sauce for a kick, terrific to spice up homemade baked beans. We use it all the time in combination with a couple other favourite chili flavours like Ancho. We will never go back to the pre-made "Chili" powder again.

I took weird lunches. Mainly the fact that I rarely took sandwiches made me an outcast. They were always little homemade individual pizzas, or salad all in different individual containers to be mixed together later so nothing got soggy, or homemade soup in a thermos. I got bugged a lot. But was always then asked if I could share.

Made this 2 nights ago it was fantastic. Used tofu sausage and it worked perfectly. Had the leftovers warmed up in a wrap for breakfast this morning, and it was awesome! Thanks for the recipe.

It makes a wonderful base to an asian inspired salad dressing. It is nice if you like making your own oven roasted nuts, a little miso and some tamari mixed together and tossed on the nuts before coating is super tasty. And we make a lot of miso soup.

I like to add to just about everything. We are vegetarian and it is a great source of protein. I add it to soup, amazing in tomato soup with chipotle seasoning. Nice as an addition to salad. If you have a spinach salad, just add a cup of quinoa for an extra added boost, along with some chickpeas or lentils, lots of protein there. Makes a great veggie burger base as well, with black beans and some salsa.

We freeze all our food scraps. Onion peels, ends of leeks, cores of apples, carrot peels, kale stocks etc. When it gets too much, everything goes in a pot and we make veggie stock from it. It is a darker stock due to the skins of everything, but it is flavourful and no extra veggies have to be bought to make great tasting stock. Almost nothing is wasted in our house anymore.
