About half of my wardrobe stays out all the time, and the other half rotates--the clothes that I only wear in the middle of summer and middle of winter, plus a few other items since not everything fits in my closet. I've found it makes my clothes last longer, and I definitely save money because it feels like getting new clothes when I switch them out.

Unexpected Benefits of Packing Away Clothes Seasonally

This is a great post--thanks so much for sharing! My boyfriend and I had a similar discussion during the Cure, only it was reversed. I was the one doing things without telling him, while he was at work or out of town, and he was the one with his feelings hurt. We talked about why and came up with some solutions, and it was the best thing to come out of the whole Cure for me!

I used to make tons of toys out of cardboard--it was way more fun than playing with something that someone else had made!

I may not be done yet, so the Cure is continuing into February for me. But THANK YOU THANK YOU for making my January fun, keeping me on track, and keeping this great community going! My project list is still a mile long but I've done a few things that make me so much happier with my home!

Love that little red light! And I'm so glad to hear that someone else just doesn't wear make-up - I'm curious if there's a particular reason? I have sensitive skin but basically I just never got into the habit.

I've fallen about a week behind--but I've got each post up on a tab in my browser and close 'em off like a to-do list as I go. Once I catch up, I'm going to celebrate by making dinner for my roommates--to thank them for putting up with the constantly changing apartment this month :)

Listerine in a skull bottle! Oh man, even your comment replies are hilarious!! But yes, that bathroom is...perplexing... Love the head/hair vase though!

Love the library style shelves. I've been dying to do something like this but have to wait for my existing bookshelf/tv unit to officially die (just can't throw it away otherwise). I especially like the couch in front of the shelves--I think it looks great and love the idea of the hidden storage.

I've always felt that way about facebook--never got as into it as a lot of people are. I like the newish feature where you can star some people so that you are alerted whenever they post. That way I can keep track of what my closest friends and family say, and that's pretty much the only time I check fb. I have a twitter account for work (to stay in touch with freelancers) but never post or check it. But Pinterest and my RSS feed are my favorite things about the internet right now.

Pigs :) I noticed some from CB2 and Crate & Barrel and since we (for some unknown reason) have a few pig decor items I'm gonna embrace it!

Trend Prediction: What Do You Think is The Next Big Thing?

A lot of people have already said this, but just to add another voice--yeah I only buy pajamas/lounge clothes that can be worn in public (NYC for me). Lots of yoga pants and track pants. My vice though is that I don't wear a bra at home, so jackets (stiff but light weight or super-puffy for winter) are an essential part of my dog-walking wardrobe. But also as lots of people have said, that's because I have an old dog and often have to walk her at the drop of a hat.

Kate Beaton is awesome, I'd love to have one of those mugs to sip coffee from while re-reading her comics :)

This is great! We have one side of an old crib hung on the wall in our bathroom to hang magazines from in the same way, but shelves would have been nice!

Chibi is super kawaii!

Agree with the DVD binder assessment, mine are both massive and ridiculously dusty. I need a better solution but pretty much any DVD storage costs a ton of money--and honestly we prefer to watch things via Netflix streaming rather than get up and find the DVD.

One comment about the cord box--just make sure it has plenty of ventilation, especially if any of your cords have those little converter boxes midway or at the end.

I agree with @tdusty - this post made me laugh out loud :)

And I also agree that living basil should always be cherished. My dog ate most of mine and now I've eaten the part that was left...

This is something I still struggle with. Growing up, my mom had a woman come clean our house twice a week. I had to pick up my things, but I never realized how exhausting the actual cleaning part can be. And without central air and filters, I feel like the dust is just insane!

I do remember her constantly getting after me for leaving dishes all over the house, and now that I have a boyfriend who does the same thing I think I'm turning into my mother. Does that mean I can have a cleaning lady, too? :)

@Parnassus that's exactly how I felt last year--I love orange! I went a little over budget for clothes and decor last year knowing that orange might not be so easy to find after the official trend is over.

@Edd Fear speaking of orange, I'd love to see your home office. We painted our living room ceiling orange when we moved in a year ago, and still love it. But the rest of our living room colors are all over the place. I got a light blue library ladder for my birthday, and I was thinking of bringing more of that color into the room and weeding some of the other colors out (ie, painting a ton of stuff).

In my first NYC apartment I had to sit on the floor with my knee in my face to work the sewing machine petal! My current apartment is larger but is all shared space. But last year when I was taking an art class I noticed how convenient it was to keep my drawing supplies in the bag I used to take them to class--I could store it in my closet and then take it to the dining room to work, then easily pack it all up again. I'm planning to make a little go-bag for each type of craft I do--paper, sewing, etc.

I'm afraid I can't do this one 100% because I always have to keep an eye on my phone--I have a type 1 diabetic boyfriend. Also my mom called. BUT I did spend several hours last night doing nothing but reading comics! I'm always behind on my stack...speaking of which, I just got a glimpse of today's assignment...

Oh man. I've got three roommates and they might as well be 3 children. I'm definitely the homemaker in the group. The apartment is somehow MORE messy than at the beginning of this cure...although that might have been from us all being out of town for the holidays.
