For mail, I

1) bought a beautiful letter opener to reward myself for opening mail (good for financial life and decluttering).

2) just signed up for this https://www.catalogchoice.org/ and I am so excited. I have an app that lets me take a picture of junk mail and send it in so they can remove me from that list.

3) Open and dispatch mail every day without fail.

4) I got a label maker and set up a beautiful file system that makes me want to file. I go through and file about once a month when I'm watching TV.

I haven't figured out clothes or dishes yet but I have a good handle on paperwork!

Or you can scoop your cookies onto parchment on a cool pan, or cutting board, or whatever, refrigerate until ready, then quickly move the parchment onto the warm baking sheet and back in the oven.

I like to make up the vodka/spice part of my Marys ahead of time: vodka, worcestershire, lots of horseradish, olives and olive juice, celery salt, coarse ground black pepper, tabasco sauce and a little lime. Let that stew as long as you like, and add to as little or as much tomato juice as you like. mmm.

a) I would argue your time is worth MORE than how much you make per hour.
b)There is a lot of value for a lot of people in stepping back from consumer culture. Not buying anything new, and contributing to all the waste that went into making that product. Not patronizing stores with sketchy labor policies sources. etc.

I can't be the only one who says this is the time to be a little crazy if you want to. Ben and Jerry's on the couch for dinner? Not gonna kill you just this once. I would say do whatever feels like a treat to you (fyi, that was mine but maybe yours is candlelight sushi in the bathtub or something) and take care of yourself!

I'm a fan of a) more vinegar because I like the taste b)the Vortex and c)being very careful about keeping the white and yolk together pre-poach. This means when you break the eggshell, SLIDE the egg into a shallow dish. No pouring from on high. Same thing into the Vortex...SLIDE the egg into the vortex. Pouring from on high separates the white from the yolk and you end up with a poached albumen with an overdone yolk tumor on the side.

anything! If it's a blended veggie soup, I like protein on top...a poached egg, some cheese, shredded chicken or salmon, and a starch to dip...bread, toast, crackers, fries, etc.

Usually, though, I eat soup because I don't have to think of what else goes with.

My grandmother's recipe, and the EASIEST I've ever seen for shredded chicken for salad, enchiladas, soup, whatev:

Take a whole chicken. Put it in a stock pot. Cover with water. Bring to a boil, boil for about 5 mins. (Here's where I check to make sure the temp is above 145). Then the secret: COOL IN THE WATER. Let it sit until cool enough to handle.

The chicken will fall away from the bone (an easy way to learn how to take apart a chicken if you've never done a raw one) and even the breast meat is exceedingly juicy.
