I have a question about Ikea's cribs -- from the photos on their website, the part where you place the mattress on appears to be solid wood/particle board. This is very different from the fancier cribs I've seen at department stores that have a sort of spring/wire frame under the mattress.

Does anyone know if it is better to have the springy base versus the hard wood/particle board base? Are any of the Ikea cribs equiped with the spring base (maybe I just can't see from the photos on their website)?

We're debating this too. So far, we've been coffee table-less with two small side tables. However, with the addition of a second sofa, we're leaning towards a coffee table now. But this begs some new debate!

Hey Emma - these look delish! How long would you say they would keep in the freezer nicely for lunches? Do I need to make a fresh batch every weekend or could I do two weeks' worth in one go?

Love this idea! This will definitely help break the sandwich boredom and keep hubby from sneaking out to restaurants/fast food for lunch.

The apron is cute.

The idea that I can afford to spend $500 on containers and that anyone would use little magnet thingys to plan their meals is atrocious.

I agree. Kill it with poisoned cereal bars in a nicely labelled $20 container.

I posted these very simple print-out labels a while ago and they work great. Just print them on standard Avery labels and add details with a Sharpie. I keep a few sheets of these magneted to the side of my fridge.

I bought my first fancy duvet cover about a year ago and we still love it. I got it on a great sale but it was still really expensive (that said the quality is obvious as after a year it still looks brand new).

I have sewn several duvet covers and honestly, after you buy the fabric, spend hours working on it, and it never looks quite right, you would have been better off investing in store bought. And as a blue-blood DIYer, I hate to say that.

I agree this would work for longer camping trips however unless you are car-camping or RVing you're not going to want to lug this thing around with you. I think better to opt for carrying a salad spinner and use that to wash your spinach and your socks. Or not.

I tend to agree with Pi. Some of my favourite textile designers are in SA (I'm an expat) and they don't distribute to the public in Canada/US. I brought back a suitcase stuffed full with Skinny LaMinx and Twine Fabric.

Like the others, I'd like to know the charcoal grey paint's name and where you got it. I think showing the before/after from one owner to the new owner is a great perspective! It shows how style can so deeply impact a space. Bri's shown how her tweaks have given cohesion to an outdated and disjointed mishmash! So what if she didn't buy everything brand new?

When I post my before/after pics of our empty new construction house and then with our stuff in it (new and old), I hope the comments are kinder. Great job Bri!!!
