Great apartment, friends, table setting, flowers, food, husband, pictures, credits, information, and writing! I love to host dinner parties as well.
Our church has a "Who's coming to dinner" event, where you sign up to be a host or guest. Then the organizer matches you up without telling the host who is coming. It's fun to see who shows up and spends the next 2 hours getting to know each other. We have done it twice,130 participated last Fall and 100 this Spring.

When I arrange cut flowers I always start with the greens. Fill the vase 1/2 to 3/4s full of greens (hosta leaves, daffodil stems, pine etc...) then add the flowers randomly to complete the arrangement.

Also NEVER let go of a knife once its in the dish water. When you, or someone else puts their hands back into the water, they cant see where the knife is and can slice or puncture their hand. Always hold onto the knife until its clean, dry and back where it belongs.

That's a very interesting light over the island. The kitchen was so dark before, but new lighting has made a definite improvement.

Most herbs like a well drained soil, so either plant in a raised bed or add sand to the soil.

Coming from a Swiss Mennonite background, often the 4th & 5th things are applesauce and a cheese plate.

Hot Fudge is the best kind of chocolate. As I age, I seem to like the darker chocolate better. The higher the cacao, the better.
