The first thing that I do when I get home from work is light a couple sticks of incense (which I will continue to burn sporadically through out the night - I go through phases on the different scents). It's sort of a ritual, and it immediately puts the work day behind me.

Am I the only one here who, instead of "beautiful and timeless", would characterize the Tiffany set as dated and boring?... the Heath set isn't all that great either.

But then, I'm not all that in to status symbols.

"yet another misunderstanding of the wabi-sabi concept.

Great idea, but I agree that this particular execution is slightly lacking. The shade definitely isn't working for it.

Going to agree that the Texas one leaves a very bad taste in my mouth.

I find the image offensive and ignorant. Perhaps the ambiguity of its message should have been considered more deeply by the designer, or, assuming ignorance based on the sole fact that it was designed in the first place, by whomever decided to approve the print and sell the damn thing - and, no, not the "intent", but what exactly is this putting across? That all of that stealing of land and killing off of Indians was done with love? That violence leads to less-than-threes? That it's okay to dilute an incredibly complex history of the interaction between varied and complex peoples to childish sterotypes because, well, hearts?

Fail.

I picked up a card catalog in San Francisco a few years ago - I live in Phoenix. 14 hour drive for that one, and worth every minute of it.

That tile's freaking awesome. Paint the rest of the wall a complementary color, and leave it.

We have the same card catalog! Though, mine has 5 rows of shelves. It was rescued from a library in Santa Barbara.
