My home (in Buffalo) was painted a bright blue by its last owner, similar to the color of the third house in from the left in the main picture. It was high on my list of "Things to Change" when I moved in, but with all the other repairs needed for my little fixer-upper, 6 months in and its still bright blue. It has grown on me a little and it will probably stay bright for a while yet, but I still look forward to toning it down a bit. Up For Discussion: Would You Ever Paint Your Home a Vibrant Color? |

Made this into "beetloaf" last night...it was great! I added the dates and oats as suggested and an egg and some breadcrumbs so it would stick together a little better. Really great recipe, made me excited to try some more no-meat loaf recipes :) Recipe: Best-Ever Veggie Burgers from Northstar Cafe Restaurant Reproduction |

I just built a plumbing pipe closet in my teeny-tiny, closet-less bedroom. It looks great and is incredibly functional, what more could you ask for? Plumbing Pipe Design Roundup: From Barn Doors to Bedframes |

Great post! Very timely - I closed about 3 weeks ago! :) Congrats on your new house and thanks for sharing this list of tips! I'm excited but feeling a bit overwhelmed as mine is a bit of a fixer-upper as well and I struggle with that same "i want everything to look perfect today" feeling. I'll be starting my own binder tonight! Organizing Tasks for a New Home |

Made this today...yum! Crowd pleaser at brunch and so easy to make. I did not use the entire bundle of kale, but when you mix in a handful at a time its easy to judge how much kale is enough. Will surely make this again. Recipe: Artichoke, Kale & Ricotta Pie Six Ingredients (and Salt) |

Useful. I just sent one in each invitation to my sister's bridal shower so everyone can share with her one of their favorite recipes and she will have an instantly full recipe box. I got the card as a printable template from etsy, so I can also copy and paste recipes from the web onto the cards or just type them up. I'm too messy of a cook to use a laptop/tablet in the kitchen, so I will be sticking with my recipe cards for sure. Recipe Cards: Useful or Outdated? |

I'm somewhat guilty of buying more than I have immediate time to DIY, but I like to have a project waiting so when I finish one I can move right on to the next. I keep handy a list of "someday" projects when I'm out thrifting so I can look for specific items. That way buying doesn't get too out of control. I'm lucky enough to have access to some storage, so projects can sit for a little while before I get to them without making me look like hoarder. How Do You Balance Your DIY Time? |
