the bugaboo bashing is because the people who own them are idiots. it's true. ive met every bugaboo owner out there. all idiots. it's just funny that you spend a fortune on this stroller than you think makes you look so cool. and you think it's handcrafted by swedish elves or something. china, taiwan, whatever. it's still not made by swedish elves. now please excuse me, i have to go pick up my hummer from the shop. im having a gun turret and elk horns fashioned.

Anusha73 - it's not their job to care about obesity and how much people stuff their face with fish and chips. some of us have restraint and self-respect. they ant the best way to make something taste good. that's their mission. if you want healthy recipes, there are a million outlets for that. otherwise, cancel your subscription. i find it hilarious that you somehow know that people will stop reading their magazine if it doesn't feature healthy recipes. they've been around for awhile. by the same token, why don't you ask all of the top restaurants to stop using butter? please, stop the policing.

Wow. 18 bucks for pencils. What a bargain. The important thing is to look cool, folks. Design is expensive. Those MUJI people must've spent years designing pencils to go in a round tube. Then each one is hand crafted by artisans by candle light and given a wax seal of approval from the prime minister.

Wake up people. It's pencils.

Bugaboo Strollers are a waste of money and made in China, not in some quaint workshop in Amsterdam next door to a coffeeshop. Get over yourselves. The Eames Rockers is unbelievably ugly and uncomfortable.

My dream buy would be a house with a big yard for my son to play in. The house doesn't even have to be big.

I'm in the frame of mind that dollhouse needs to get out more. You keep going to Applebee's, sweetnooks, and I'll eat real food. Get a life. Your kids will love you for it when they're older.

i don't think you can really go wrong with grandma's wooden rocking chair.

HOAX! Bugaboos are made in Asia, people. Stop thinking you're buying into some kind of special ideal. "Oooh, but the design is so sleek and modern." If you have money to spend on a Bugaboo, please start giving money to charity. You have too much and don't know what to do with it.

This is weird, because I got a set very early on and it crapped out on me. Was in Boston for a long weekend, went to the store to ask about batteries and why it crapped out, and they were closed, during their posted business hours. It's in an annoying area in Boston, too. Near a vast wasteland of asphalt if I remember. But then my mom gave me her set and it works amazingly. New production line? Who knows. When it works, I love it. When I'm in the center of an asphalt pit, I know I'm in Boston. i kid, though. I love Boston.

How about we all move to Brooklyn, eat leaves, and sleep on our parents' stacks of money?

We mainly use this not to breastfeed, but bottlefeed our baby in the mornings at at night. breastfeeding would be too uncomfortable since it is so deep and long.

New IKEA Lillberg Rocker

I have this in our bedroom/nursery. It looks amazing, but it doesn't rock very much. I would check it out in the store first. We did, and didn't mind the limited rocking because paying 115 for a chair was much more palpable than forking over my sack for an overpriced status symbol like a luca glider.

They're that expensive because they have customers who have too much money from Daddy's trust fund. Silliness.

Dunno. Seems kind of cluttered to me. Every bit of floor around the perimeter is taken up with something. Not sure why you need a couch like that in a nursery. i have those cloud/plane stickers and i love them. Love the rocker too. Some art on the walls would be nice. Maybe an outdoor scene since the theme of the walls are sky blue/outdoors.

I don't know. Sometimes my instincts are wrong, but if you're confident about it, it all works out. My instinct to change baby the other night proved wrong when he spewed forth his magical poop all over the changing pad. But, I was confident in my abilities and we both got through it. I cleaned him, he stopped being fussy, and we shared a good snuggle in the end.

Hey Molly H, thanks for correcting that link for me. That error really made me upset and totally screwed me up. I was all into the Dirty Bow Wow, but when I found out it was Dirty Wow Wow, I just didn't like the post anymore. Christ, who cares.

I third IKEA. I know the urge is great to get a cool crib, but think of all the diapers you can get with what you save. I have a TASSA crib, which is a perfect square, basic, and does the job beautifully. It's maybe 130 bucks and it also can be made into a toddler bed. Not online for some reason, but it's available in stores. Spending 800 dollars on a crib is like getting a 900 dollar bugaboo. i just don't get it. They're all made in China. It's not like some craftsman in Denmark is personally crafting this Oeuf for you.

Yup, the crib is Ikea Tassa - we have the same one. Baby is 2 weeks old and hates sleeping in the crib or pack n play. Loves sleeping next to Mommy and me.
