Exercise ball? I am not sure that is the best idea for a new parent, especially a mother trying to learn to nurse and may run into nursing issues. My little one sleeps in our room (in a bassinet) and most feedings are done in bed, or the livingroom couch however as she is getting a bit older (almost 3 months) I find myself heading to her room and sitting on my glider (with matching ottoman that I think is a must) to rock and talk to her when she is unsettled. As teething is setting in she finds the rocking calming and it is easier on my back then walking around the house for a 1/2 hour! Don't worry about how it looks, buy a used one on craigs list and just plan to sell it once you are done with it. I stressed about trying to find a nice looking one I could actually afford and finally settled on one that was not that attractive but comfortable for me. I can't wait until she is a bit older and we start reading there before bed time.

If you live in an area where your lawn can survive without irrigation turn off your water from the main turn off valve if you are gone more then 3 days. Most insurance policies will not cover water damage if your house is not checked on for more then 3 days by someone. The last thing you want is the water pipe for your shower on the 2nd floor to break on day one of a 6 day trip. You will come home to no floor to your 2nd floor and a bathtub in your living room!

the only time I would limit is for longer term guests. I work for a rural ISP and although we have a pretty generous BW cap (100gb down 10gb up which is 3 times more then our competitors) I cannot even start to count the amount of times users who are typically 4-5 Gb a mth users ballon to 120GB in a week because their arrogant 20 something male relative hooks up his laptop with a torrent program and lets it run 24/7 for days on end. If you have a BW cap with your ISP (which in Canada it is rare to find an unlimited plan) then I agree with Pikku. For normal friends who are just using it to send some emails on their iPhone they won't even realize there is a cap set!

I cannot get enough of this cottage. I LOVE black and white but this is just PERFECT black and white. I love all the lucite! I love the yellow! I love the silhouettes everywhere! There is nothing I don't love.

I did something like this in my old apartment in the bathroom. I used good old mactac bought from Walmart. For renters it's a great idea since you don't have the option to re-tile ugly accent tiles. It is also completely removable to upon move out date, back to ugly tile and happy landlord.

i agree with Karen, as long as your wall/ceiling joint is straight (mine is not) go with a lighter shade on the ceiling as the walls. White is boring but dark ceilings will just encase you. I have horribly uneven walls in my house so if i cut the line it would look like a 3 year old painted it.

i completely agree with re-use. How many times have you bought a toy for your dog to find out they don't like playing with it. Pass those toys onto friends who have dogs and see if they like the toy. Just like kids, dogs have different tastes in toys.

Please don't let gray make you feel guilty about using a crate. When used correctly it is the best training tool out there. I agree that you should not be putting a puppy in a crate for training, however once they are old enough for house training go ahead, enjoy the crate. We still have our 7 year old pug's crate in the livingroom corner. When our 1 1/2 year old husky/lab cross is a bit too much for little Lucy to handle she crawls up on her memory foam cushion and I push the door closed behind her. It is not latched, she knows she can get out, but she also knows Chloe can't get in. Her training is long over so the gate is never latched but she uses her crate as her bedroom and we all know to leave her alone when she is there. Dogs crave their own space as much as we do!
Dogs should not be crated when you are home and awake, you should be interacting with your dog. But for those of us who are not able to work from home, putting a dog in a crate while you are at work is not cruel. The alternative is not have a dog which for me means 2 less dogs adopted from rescues and instead they would have been put down. To me, that is cruel.

I grew up using one bath towel a week as well. I use one bath towel and a one hair turban every week. You are clean after you get out of the shower after all, if not, you don't know how to shower properly....
