I appreciate all the effort and doing it the "right" way by asking wood experts for the best products, I just would have liked to see a lighter finished top, less dark brown. That's just my initial reaction. Enjoy your owl, it's a one of a kind!

"Shabby chic" is not what comes to mind, that's a little feminine and crafty sounding. You guys did a great job, and I'm sure you will add to it and it will slowly evolve over time now that you've developed an eye for upcycling materials. I hope your backs are okay, that looks like it involved some heavy labor! Fantastic, enjoy!

Beautiful, but if you're going to cut holes all over the crates, why bother using wine crates, which are sought after for their logos and labels and designs on the sides? I must be missing something.

Wonderful. If I lived next door as a child, I would be constantly making up excuses to come over and hang out with your pets as I gazed at all of the curious collections. I would do this also as an adult, but maybe I'd have a better chance at coming in if I was too adorable to shoo away.....

Kudos to Bethany Nauert for a spectacular photography job, and presenting this interesting and inviting home in a professional way. It really makes a difference in the viewers enjoyment of a house tour to have it shown with skill, and I thought I should mention that since I've been irritated when the house tour pics have been less than enjoyable, so THANK YOU Bethany!!!
