I have been using 365project.org to store my 365 photos, but after discovering (thanks to this post) that blurb has an "import from facebook" feature, I think I might just create a "365" album on facebook, post the pictures and comments there, then automatically (and super-easily) create a book out of that album at the end of the year! Thanks for the question!

Chicken nuggets (served cold/whatever temp) are always a hit here (with both kids and adults). We live in Florida and get our nugget trays at Publix, but I'm sure you can find something similar in NYC. :)

Also, if you're concerned about peanut allergies, be sure to find out what they cook the nuggets in. I have found out from a close friend who's son has a severe peanut allergy that Chick-fil-A cooks their nuggets in peanut allergy (if I'm not mistaken on the place), so he can't even eat that. I'm sure if you talk to the mom ahead of time, she'd help you out with some ideas and/or just volunteer to have an alternative for her child.

Good luck!

This room incorporates so many details that I have my in 5 year old daughters room! I LOVE the vintage style with the modern touches, and the loads of DIY projects!

I don't know which one annoys me more... the snobby, ridiculous moms or the fact that Rosie actually implied that having a c-section means that you don't deserve a "push present" because you "just lay there"!

I have a white Jenny Lind that I'm planning to use spray paint primer and color on. I just did that to a rocking chair with lots of Jenny Lind style details on it, and it turned out great, so I'm hoping that the crib will too. :) I'll report back when I'm done (probably next week)!

Perfect timing! I am decorating the nursery for my daughter (due in 3 months) and the room doesn't have closet, so I was planning to use either a PAX or LACK to do this same thing! How did you attach the closet rod to the bookcase? That's had me a bit stumped and has been keeping me from going with LACK.

Thank you! Very nice job!

LOOOOVE this!! I am a couple of weeks away from finding out if my baby is a boy or girl, and know that I want to do "vintage toys" as the theme if it's a boy, but hadn't thought of the perfect background (aka "wall") color for the theme, and this is it! Thank you so much!

Also, did the crib come in grey or did you paint it?

This is simply adorable! I LOVE the creativity of a themed party that you can't just go out and buy the things for yourself! :)

While I selected "Home", I don't know that I agree with the description of "Home! It's always simpler and more meaningful that way." My home parties are by no means "simpler" than the venue parties that I've hosted... they're quite the opposite. At the home parties, I feel like my decorations and the activities that I plan are what make the party, so I spend MANY more hours doing planning, prep work, and setting up for the party than I do during a venue party where you usually only have about an hour to do all of the setup. I have a feeling, I'm not the only one.

With all that there is to make you sad these days, what's wrong with celebrating the little things (and by the way, finding out the sex of YOUR baby is not a "little thing" when it's happening to you)?!

Now back on topic... very cute and clever idea! I am a self-proclaimed party lover, so I may just have to do something like this for my next child (if I can contain the secret for the few hours it would take between the time of the ultrasound and the time of the party)!

Love it!

I think the room looks nice, but I agree that it doesn't look very kid-friendly at all.

However... with an unlimited budget (or a ridiculously large budget), I think you can make anything look nice. Well... unless you're Donald Trump. :)

This year I gave gifts to my children's teachers, as well as the other staff at the school who deal with my children on a daily basis. I made cards with my children on their first day of school on the front. Inside the cards, I wrote personal notes to each of the teachers/staff. I included Target gift cards (I did $25 for the teachers and $10 for the other staff.) and included a specially decorated Hershey's chocolate bar. The school that my children attend has a barn theme, so I chose to do a barn theme for the candy bars. They all raved about the candy bars and loved the personal notes and giftcards too. :)

See them on flickr.

I'm sure that room will last her for quite a few years (and also make her THE friends house to visit)! And when she outgrows the princess theme... I'm sure her creative parents will find a way to transform this room into something that she'll love then too!
