My main task will be to get rid of any and all mold that has collected on vinyl window sills over the cold months with humidifiers running. Yuk... The windows will be open tomorrow to enjoy the fresh spring air. I'm so excited!

This will be the first time I've joined from the beginning. I'm going to do a full cure on my MBR (make it clutter-free and luxurious) and mini cures on my kids' room (they share a small BR and it's just a mess). I won't be spending a lot of money, just doing more practical things to gain some peace of mind which is lacking in my BR right now.

A repost.. on *this*? AT must love the pain. I won't add to it, since I would love to have one like this at home. I wouldn't have it out in any main living areas, but I can see building a whole "fun" room around the idea. And why not?

I love how your living area looks like a living area and your bedroom looks like a bedroom, all in one space.

Wow, you're so on the edge that I wish I could just push you a bit. OK so a few areas needed picking up, but forget about that (just get more colorful baskets like the red and green). Your style almost demands MORE trinkets and action figures and quirky off-beat artwork! I say fill your entire space with all that defines you from floor to ceiling. Don't force yourself into anything that is even remotely minimalist. More.. until you fill up the wall, move that really high artwork down a few inches, let your dog breathe, and start thinking of the best gift for Mother's Day *now*.

I am totally missing the "personal" in this home. It's fantastic and gorgeous for a magazine spread, but past that, it leaves me feeling hollow. Even mag images have a pair of beach sandals or an open book tossed in. However overstaged, I can appreciate the worn bluish chest and the fact that no pillows were chopped. Beautifully done, now let's take our shoes off and kick back.

I really like this place namely for all the personal touches from the hand towel over the cabinet to the boots and yoga mats (?) by the door. This shows clean, classy, *real* living that I can relate to. And I had that doggie pattern pillow years ago... love it.

LOVE the tub in the kitchen. And there's room for an eat-in kitchen? Just crazy! I also appreciate you're not afraid of dark colors in a small space.. the WC is fantastic.

Your headboard / nightstand / aquarium stand / dresser combo is clever. I love that quirky artwork above it as well.

Wow, that lobster looks totally phallic. Love the sense of humor the panda brings.

I find smugness to be cheap crap. It makes no difference what brand an item holds if the owner gets full use and satisfaction from it. And if you purchase something at a great price AND have resale in mind, it's akin to getting married with a divorce lawyer's number in your pocket.

Most anything in my home that I get bored with (and would love to simply replace) automatically gets a coat of cheap (as in 67 cents cheap) craft paint, even my walls. Everything gets rearranged, some things get retired, and some things get a new life.

I truly don't understand. I believe the youngsters would call this "ghetto", meaning something thrown together, and not a good substitute for the real thing. Is space so limited that a romantic setting is next to a pile of garbage bags with a wrinkled napkin on top of a dirty rug thing? Am I spoiled because I have the luxury of a patio and grass (and out of the way dumpsters)? I'm being very serious here.. I just don't get it.

I missed the last TWO cures. I'm with Christine this time though. I started last month with some decluttering projects (and am still in the process). It's like washing the dishes before putting them in the dishwasher. Now that I can think and breathe a bit more clearly, maybe I'll have a successful cure.

I'd leave the space above the couch as is. I love the statement the artwork makes. What's throwing me off the the sofa on the (our) left which I assume is pushed against a wall. Perhaps pull that out a few feet to help shift the room more into balance. IMO, moving the artwork above the couch is totally predictable which goes against the room's style.

I'm currently working on my bedroom. It's a major thing to get rid of years of "stuff". Just moving the desk out has meant a total reworking of electronics, cords, and not-so-important very important papers. Great advice listed!
