@JENNAELBOW: The California print is by John Holcomb: http://www.shorthandedstudio.com/. And the wine print was by Wendy MacNaughton: http://wendymacnaughton.com/popup.html. (It was limited edition for a museum event, but perhaps you can persuade her to print more because they're awesome!) Kimberley's Food Blogging Haven Kitchen Tour |

I love this! And I loved it even before I saw the sweet shout out. I really want to do a color-themed dinner party. It's something I've been mulling. Dinner Party Tip: Cook by Color |

I'm in the midst of this debate myself with the canned vs. fresh pureed pumpkin conundrum. Looking at a Kitchn post from a few years back in which most readers heartily approve canned. It must be before the BPA scare. The lack of consistency with fresh pumpkin puree makes for a tough argument in favor of it. It's kind of a bummer. I understand Bittman's agenda, but wonder if his approach winds up being counter-productive. I'm with him, though, mostly because pie gives me a tummy ache and I adore crisps for their emphasis on fruit while the topping plays second fiddle. Mark Bittman Disses Pie |

Ah, love this! Love that you called this gorgeous sandwich "unctuous and plucky." Love the crazy flavor combo. Love that you cleverly broadened the uses of your waffle maker. I need to get me one of those. Recipe: Oregon Summer Panino Six Ingredients (and Salt) |

I came across the California pepper tree on vacation in December and was so excited to bring foraged pepper home, but later read that they are inedible. Now I wish I had brought it home. Foraging: Pink Pepper |
