Really like the art choices. I would have to edit though because I hate to dust. Love the red in the livingroom!

Lots of hate here! Wow, just because you wouldn't duplicate this look in your house doesn't automatically make it bad! It is nice to see something different for a change. Seems like most home tours begin to all look alike. I like the tree. It is more meaningful and personal than a bunch of etsy prints and "keep calm" posters.

I agree that a slipcover might make more sense if getting another sofa isn't an option. Upholstery can be very pricey for quality material. It would only make sense if the sofa is high quality, or special to you. As far as keeping it out of the landfill, when a sofa is reupholstered, cushions and foam are often replaced along with the fabric. If you get a new sofa, donate your old one to a college kid.

Daycares don't usually use that kind of play kitchen. I've worked in some day cares and they usually purchase solid wood high quality toy kitchens that can take lots of abuse. Unless it is solid wood I would pass it onto another family. Generally that brand is particle board and poor quality. It will likely not be in good shape when you have grand kids.

I would trip over that carpet under the table constantly. Not my taste but it would make a great movie set for a thriller.

Life is so busy, and my decorating budget is small enough that it wouldn't qualify as an obsession. I don't have a keep calm poster or chevrons because it didn't wow me the first time I saw it and it still doesn't. I can't imagine this being a big enough issue to warrant concern. Most women are busy working, raising kids, and doing things for other people that she doesn't have time for a decorating hobby, much less being obsessed, right? Decorating is fun, but life should be filled with family, friends, and more important pursuits.

Seems to me that you did quite a lot in three years. My husband I lived with mismatched hand me downs for the first 5 years of marriage. We usually save forever for a new item. My furniture is a result of years of dreaming, so no trends or buyers remorse here. It also pays to stick to what you are drawn to rather than trends. The medical cabinet is not something I would choose, but it works in your space, and it should last forever! If you see yourself loving it 10 years from now it was a great decision.

I still love tomato soup with grilled processed cheese sandwich. I have also dreamed about frito pie but I haven't had that in years. I am not sure I can digest frito pie any more.

I personally like this home. She lives within a budget, and her home looks comfortable. I think AT should feature more homes where people don't go into thousands of dollars of debt. In this bad economy, people will have to learn how to widen their narrow view of what a home should look like. Bravo Tolly!

As a kid I couldn't stand my parent's choice of orange decor in the late 60s and 70s. Now I guess I have become nostalgic. So many elements of your boat bring back fond memories. It looks so cozy and welcoming. Great job!

After living with an HOA for the past ten years, I would rather live with a few strange colors in my neighborhood than have every choice dictated. My next door neighbor had to repaint their house after choosing the "wrong" beige. We are only allowed 4 choices of neutral colors.

Can't believe there is another thread allowing people to turn their nose up at people they deem design challenged. I don't ask for approval from anyone, other than the family members that live with me, when I hang a picture, or make a purchase for my home. I don't care what others think because they aren't paying my mortgage. When I visit someone I go to see the people that live there. I don't go to see if they have original art or wall to wall carpet. I don't want friends who love my stuff, just friends who care about me. I have fun looking at what other people do with their homes on AT, but I won't bother with AT if it becomes a platform for judging people. There are more important things to be "allergic" to than design!
