I appreciate seeing all the redone staircases that have been posted of late. It makes me really satisfied with my recently refinished stairs. The white risers are so classic, and yours will be so easy to clean!

Having just stripped, stained, refinished and painted my floors over the past four days, I can really appreciate this transformation. Excellent work!

I bought a Flensted mobile the last time I was at the Guggenheim. I was surprised to not see them on the list. A good mobile is so zen and captivating. In addition to aiding my office decor, it mellows me out.

I would never have guessed that the entryway was not expensively and professionally panelled. Wow.

I am in the process of letting my subscriptions run out. I bought the nook tablet and will subscribe to Elle Decor and House Beautiful. I've previewed the publications on the device and the image quality is excellent. The best part is that I can still have my magazines, but they do not take up any physical space.

My sister owned the smallest house in the city of Lancaster, PA, which was about the same width, but a story shorter. There is something so charming about a small home. She really inspired me to consider just how much space you really need in order to live happily.

1) Get a giant curtain rod and four luxurious looking curtain panels.
2) Inset the actual window frames with shades to your taste. Grass/bamboo, roman, solar, etc.
3) Enjoy your classy window treatments.

Living in a historic house, I had huge windows to drape. I scavenged bargains at local department stores and picked up my curtain rods at a moving sale. Those are my recommendations, because buying cheap blinds would upset me every day I had to look at them.

I would not change the floor, it is hard work and an unnecessary expense. I would, however, find a nice polka dot mat to put down. I also agree with RNM, black and white check can go with just about anything.
