How Can I Share My [Insert Awesome X] on Ohdeedoh?

Again, I wholeheartedly agree about rats. They are amazing, fantastic animals. I have a lot of experience with small animals as a former vet technician and pet store manager, and I would hardly ever recommend a hamster. Occasionally you'll luck out and get one that will actually let you hold it without biting you (they are nocturnal, solitary creatures) but they are too nippy and skittish for most small children who will want to hold it and love it. Rats on the other hand, actually look forward to human interaction, are friendly, and even affectionate.
Go Rats!!

I agree wholeheartedly with all of the opposition to this party, its theme, and the very fact that a three-year old is exposed to Katy Perry at all. I am also very disappointed in one of my very favorite daily read websites, Ohdeedoh.
I am disgusted by the sexualization of our daughters in our society.

Ack! I have too many opinions to even take the time to read the previous comments to see if I am just reiterating previous opinions.
Every baby deserves to be celebrated! That's what a shower should be- a celebration and a display of that joy for the mother and baby, be it their first, or 10th. Each baby deserves this as much as the first.
Secondly, I think you should consider which is more important to you: your friendship and her feelings, or your personal environmentalist view? In the long run, which is more important for you to preserve? If you decide that her feelings and your friendship are more important, than you should give her what she needs. In lieu of that, something handmade always trumps whatever everyone else brought, whether they have registered for it or specifically asked for it or not.
