Nope, you're not alone in loving (the smell of) hardware stores. I'm picky though - gimme a Ace or similar, small mom & pop, hardware store over Home Depot or Lowes ANY day!

I have two of these - paid a lot more than $10 and mine don't have adjustable handles.

I love the look of the containers, but I doubt that's what I'd use it for. Yeah, I'm the one with 10+ rolls under the sink. Also, I don't buy the brand, so I can't get the UPS to buy one of the durn things!

@omoriala? I have (running to count) 10 coffee makers. Why? I just like them!

Why so many pics of the cart? Cus it's brilliant! It's like a little art installation in the middle of the place! I love it!

As for size, he may be doing actual room size and not counting the hall or bath? I think it's also the angles the pics were taken at.

Nice place!

*I* am organized to within an inch of crazy. My best friends are not. I can't tell you how often I have had to wait to cries of 'WHERE IS MY _____". I've tried to help, but my ways don't work for them. Fitting needs to habits is so simple, but so brilliant.

I'm going to check out this book for myself and perhaps to share...though I KNOW it'll get lost...*sigh*

I agree and disagree - a trite, clichéd quote might still have powerful meaning to someone. "Imagine" has and will always be very special to me.

So long as the quote/phrase has meaning to YOU, it's art.

I don't know why, but kelly green always invokes thoughts of Europe. It's a color I associate with small flats, quirky rooms and the '70's! (NONE of which are a bad thing)

Color Spotlight: Kelly Green

I've applied color differently in each room. My bedroom is big broad strokes (dark brown & teal), nothing fussy, almost no colored accessories. In my kitchen it's all about outrageous pops (orange). In the living room it's the accessories layered over the two main colors used on the furniture (navy & orange);and in my wee tiny bathroom it's the shower curtain that contains all the color which I've used pops of in the accessories and the rugs (dark brown, teal and orange). Every color story in each room bleeds off a little into the next room, pulling together all the spaces. Funny part? NONE of it was conscious. I bought what I liked and it wasn't until I was "done" (are we ever, truly, DONE?) that I realized what I'd done.

I turn it a wee bit at night and only in the bedroom. I HATE a cold bedroom. During the day, I still keep all the windows open (Fall air is the best) and wear a sweater!

I have my collections all over my apartment. But I have a display case in my living room that gets changed out monthly. It's been rhinos, Legos, S&P shakers and goldfish. Right now? Barbies. Next month buffalo!

I was told by a friend who raised chickens that if you DON'T wash eggs, they are good almost indefinitely without refrigeration. But once you wash them, in they have to go. If I could could find a reliable place to buy fresh/unwashed eggs, I would in a heartbeat.

Vitra chairs. Hit the nail on the head with that one. As a recovering Barbie addict, I NEEDED these 1:6th scale bits of lovely. Sadly, I could never afford even one. Now I could, but know it'd be an addiction.

Pretentious? Yes...but no. The feel I get from from this (IMO of course) is Parisian via Boston, Mass. Would I live there? NO. Not to my taste, but I love the grand scale, the details and finishes. The place actually seems kinda fun to me, like it doesn't take itself to seriously.

When my cat was diagnosed with diabetes, I was heartbroken to discover I cold no longer give him cat treats. OH NO! My cat will stop loving me! It's been almost 5 months now and I miss the treats more than he does. I removed those and wet food from his diet and he still loves me. We give treats to our pets because WE want them to have them. Knock it off and I promise Pooch & Kitty won't care (eventually!)
